NASA conducted a new 500-second RS-25 engine test at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, on 30 August 2017, at 15 :03 CDT. NASA's new Space Launch System (SLS) rocket will be powered by four RS-25 engines firing simultaneously on its inaugural flight, known as Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1).
