There are two photographs of this LK which have been available for years...





Now this same LK is seen with additional sensors and pads on the feet, which have never been seen in any other photographs or drawings. I would like to think this is real hardware, but I must be skeptical for now.

If these new details are part of the final design, I'll also need more photographs so that I can accurately portray them.

Девид, дело в том что на всех снимках этого экземпляра одни и те же "тарелки" опор. Только в скриншоте с арсенала установлено всё,
датчики контакта с поверхностью, кабель к ним и самое главное: вторая контактная тарелка с центральным отверстием в которое проходит сотовая подушка.

Through measurements I deduced that the bottom plate fits over the cellular cushion, and the sensor cables can be seen attached to the legs of other LK. But what is the actual appearance of the sensors (I would love to include them in my model) and what is the purpose of the second plate?

It is also apparent that the Integrated Orientation Engines match the design of the LK at MAI. That makes two LK with this system and two with the system seen on the Mozhaisky LK.

This is all really very interesting!

Вот, вот. На некоторых приборный отсек просто закрыт сферической
крышкой, а на некоторых этот конус еще присутствует :?
Может Леон знает, у него там рядом ЛК к томуж еще и с крышкой
с иллюминатором... , еще и рукой на нее указывает  



Хотя судя по тому как музейщики РККЭ обошлись с ЛК, боюсь
что и спрашивать некого... :cry:

Но есть некая корреляция. Этот конус стоит только на экземплярах с креплениями под батарейную раму спереди.  

Хотя судя по тому как музейщики РККЭ обошлись с ЛК, боюсь
что и спрашивать некого... :cry:

Он (ЛК) в таком виде, еще в техникуме стоял.

A couple more questions about these "лягушатах" ... There are some spots visible on the bottom of these pads. These appear to be at regular intervals, but are not the same sizes. They are evenly spaced with three being directly over the sensors. Are these just discoloration or is there a purpose to them, such as lower attachment points to the sensors? Also, what materials are the plates made of? They do not appear to be metallic.

P.S. As there are representatives from NK with cameras in hand visible in the Tambov footage, I have emailed them to see if there were  photographs taken of these details, and if so will they be posted or published. I am hoping for a positive response. :wink:

Could this have been a component of the T2K design?

I can tell you that before the transfer of this LK to its new location it had the Orientation Targeting Sensor attached to this cone, but in a horizontal position :? .

Speaking of which, the LK at MAI also used to have an Orientation Targeting Sensor attached to it, whose configuration changed a bit while on display at EuroDisney. Now it is missing from both displays

There is a short low-resolution video available online, but these are the best shots from it:



You can clearly see the top radiator plate is missing, and that the engines are the same as the LK at MAI, but no good shots of the landing pads. :cry:

I purchased the subscription to Newstube, and unfortunately the quality of the video is no better than what I've already posted.

Still no response from the NK editorial staff, but I do hope they eventually post images from their visit to the Tambov Arsenal.
