India to have new launchpad for proposed manned mission
Sriharikota (PTI): India plans to a have a new launchpad to undertake its proposed human space flight (manned mission) programme, ISRO officials said.

A project report on the human space flight is ready and is awaiting final approval from the government, Director Satish Dawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, M P Dathan said.

He said the indigenously built geosynchronous launch vehicle will be upgraded to undertake this mission.

According to ISRO officials, this human space flight is expected in 2015. This will be the third launchpad at Sriharikota, they said.

.....Though permission for the manned missions is yet to be given, the Indian Government has already cleared the launch of Chandrayaan-2. However, the manned mission has been approved by the Space Commission, and a formal government approval may be forthcoming in the next few months.

The manned mission involves development of a fully autonomous manned space vehicle to carry two astronauts into low earth orbit and back. The venture would require development of new technologies for the crew module, service module, launch escape system, establishment of long-term facilities and identifying detailed elements required for undertaking the venture.

"Basically, technology elements required for development of a habitable module is the top-most priority", Nair, also Secretary in the Department of Space, said.

..."We scouted for sites across the country before deciding on Bangalore. We chose Bangalore because it also has an Institute for Aviation Medicine, an area crucial to space-related endeavors," Nair explained.

"We plan to have it ready in three years before we have a manned mission. For that, the centre has to be ready three years earlier because it takes that much time for training."

ISRO will send the moon men in 2015 and the facility should be ready by 2012.....

Вроде о 2014 пишут, ну как минимум не так давно писали. Обещались именно в 14-м своего гаганавта запустить.
Если сейчас говорят про 2012 - интересно, это индусы решили поторопиться (с чего бы?), или журналисты напутали?

Но грозятся делать многоразовый корабль. И картинки соотв. мелькали, и SRE как-никак подтверждает некую серьёзность их намерений, как минимум, это не просто слова - хотя, конечно, не факт, что действительно выльется в хорошую железку.

"We have already made a presentation to the prime minister last month (Oct 17) on our capabilities to launch a manned mission into space by 2014. As preparations to launch an unmanned lunar mission (Chandrayaan-1) by 2008 are under way, we will be exploring the prospects of landing an Indian on moon by at least 2020," a top ISRO official said in Nov.2006.

India and Russia could jointly develop a new generation space shuttle for manned space flights and negotiations for the project are  expected to begin in January, according to a top space official.

"India has expressed desire to participate in the development of a new reusable manned spaceship and from January next we will discuss this issue with the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation," Chief of Russia's Federal Space Agency, Roskosmos, Anatoly Perminov said.

Although Perminov did not identify the project, but 'Energia' Corporation is reportedly developing reusable spacecraft 'Clipper', which is expected to replace Soviet-designed Soyuz spaceships in Russia's national space programme.

Perminov said India was Russia's privileged space partner with which it was working in different directions and has granted Indian space experts access to many of its ground control facilities.

"With India we are interacting in carrier rockets, their components, dual use systems, global positioning system GLONASS and mission control and ground tracking equipment," Perminov said ....

India is working to send a manned spacecraft to orbit the planet by 2015.

A statement in this respect was made by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) chairman G. Madhavan Nair after losing sight of Chandrayaan-1, the first unmanned spaceship as part of the organization aspirations.

Nair further noted that the organization is preparing a comprehensive project to rocket a GSLV and spacecraft that would carry Indian astronauts, clarifying that the project was estimated at USD three million.

Ahmedabad: India will be able to send a manned mission to moon by the year 2020 if everything goes as planned, Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman G Madhavan Nair said today.

Nair was here to deliver the 4th lecture on leadership title 'Indian Space Mission-Recent Achievement and Challenges Ahead' at a function organised by the Ahmedabad Management Association.

"Space is going to be the next frontier for the future generation, and India cannot afford to lag behind," Nair said.

"If everything goes as per the plan we will be ready to send a man to moon by 2020", he added.

"On one side we have the capacity and technology, on the other side we need to provide training to a human being to survive the condition on moon and the zero gravitation," he added.

"This demands for more amount of training on the ground, and we would be spending one third of the budget on training and development of technology," he further said.

NEW DELHI: The next astronaut from India may not have to wait till the country's indigenous manned mission is ready.

According to officials here, India and Russia could speed up a proposal, dormant for sometime, for sending two Indians to the International Space Station before 2015. In fact, one of the sources said the flight could be as early as 2012. At least two officials confirmed that such an offer from the Russian Aviation and Space Agency on Cooperation (Rosaviakosmos) exists with Isro.

НЬЮ-ДЕЛИ, 2 декабря. (ИТАР-ТАСС). Правительство Индии одобрило выделение 950 млн рупий (20 млн дол) на детальную проработку Индийской организацией космических исследований (ИСРО) первого национального проекта запуска пилотируемого космического корабля.

Как сообщил в Бангалоре директор центра ИСРО Кумарасвами Радхакришнан, планируется отправить на околоземную орбиту в недельный полет экипаж из двух космонавтов. Если проект будет утвержден, старт может состояться в 2015 году. По словам ученого, после завершения миссии спускаемый аппарат корабля должен будет приводниться в акватории Индийского океана.

Запланированный полет станет первым шагом в реализации амбициозных планов Индии в изучении космоса по программе пилотируемых экспедиций. После успешного запуска работающего сейчас на окололунной орбите спутника "Чандраян-1" (на фотографии), ИСРО рассчитывает осуществить в сотрудничестве с Роскосмосом проект "Чандраян-2", в рамках которого предусматривается ориентировочно в 2012 году отправить к Луне с помощью индийской РН GSLV космический корабль, состоящий из двух лунных модулей - орбитального и посадочного. В 2020 году планируется высадка на Луне индийского космонавта-исследователя, а примерно в 2030 году участие в международных экспедициях на Марс.

Как сообщил Радхакришнан, для подготовки будущих индийских космонавтов в Бангалоре намечено создать специальный тренировочный центр. Отбор двух членов экипажа первого индийского космического корабля будет произведен из предварительно сформированной группы, в которую войдут 200 претендентов. Кандидаты пройдут всестороннюю проверку и обучение. По мнению главы центра ИСРО, пилотируемые полеты должны открыть принципиально новые возможности для проведения широкого комплекса научных исследований. Для решения задачи потребуется также усовершенствовать индийскую РН GSLV и создать космический корабль со спускаемым аппаратом.
