Serena Auñón-Chancellor has confirmed the station crew is ready for Dragon to resume its approach to the space station, which is expected around 5:42 a.m. EST (1042 GMT).

Laser navigation sensors and thermal cameras aboard the Dragon capsule are collecting data on the range, closure rate and orientation between the supply ship and the space station, feeding the information to its on-board computer governing the final approach.

Dragon is heading for a final hold point around 10 meters, or 32 feet, fr om the station, wh ere it will be captured by the Canadian-built robotic arm.

View from the SSRMS End Effector. Orbital Sunrise at 5 mins past the hour, so likely waiting until then for capture. Dragon heading to the 10 meter hold point.

NASA mission control in Houston expects to restore contact with the International Space Station around 6:50am EST (1150 GMT) as teams work around a satellite communications problem. No issues reported with the Dragon cargo craft or the space station.
