United Launch Alliance has initiated the countdown for launch of the Atlas V rocket to deploy 29 advanced broadband satellites into space for Amazon Leo. Our overnight launch opportunity opens at exactly 1:45:30 a.m. EDT (0545:30 UTC) for liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
The launch countdown is a tightly scripted sequence of procedures and steps over the next seven hours that will complete pre-launch testing, fill the rocket with propellants and put systems into flight mode.
Our live status blog begins at  p.m. EDT (0245 UTC) just prior to the start of fueling operations and the livestream starts 20 minutes before launch.

Good evening from Atlas V launch control at Cape Canaveral where our live blog has started for tonight's Amazon Leo 5 mission. This is your official source for updates throughout the countdown to the 1:45 a.m. EDT (0545 UTC) launch.
We are on schedule to launch an Atlas V 551 rocket carrying the Amazon Leo 5 broadband satellite mission to low Earth orbit tonight. The payload consists of 29 spacecraft, the largest configuration for Atlas Leo.

Atlas V fueling is underway with cryogenic propellants for today's Amazon Leo 5 launch.
Atlas and Centaur propulsion console operators here at ULA's Launch Control Center are performing the steps to command the pad systems to begin flowing 66,000 gallons of liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen in the rocket over the next 90 minutes.
Weather forecast is 90% favorable to launch at 1:45 a.m. EDT (0545 UTC).

United Launch Alliance has successfully completed today's launch of the Amazon Leo 5 mission by the Atlas V rocket! All 29 advanced broadband satellites have been released into low Earth orbit, marking the largest payload ever launched by the venerable rocket family.
Atlas V has delivered a total of 139 Amazon spacecraft into orbit through six successful flights -- Protoflight and five launches for the Leo constellation.
Next up, Leo 6 with another 29 satellites, is planned for April 27.
