NEXT LAUNCH

Mission Name: Owl For One, One For Owl
Rocket: Electron
Launch Date: TBC
Launch Site: Launch Complex 1
Launch Time: TBC
Payload: New StriX Satellite

MISSION OVERVIEW
Rocket Lab will launch a dedicated mission for Synspective, a Japanese Earth observation company deploying a constellation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites designed to deliver imagery that can detect millimetre-level changes to the Earth's surface from space.
The "Owl for One, One for Owl" mission is scheduled to launch from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand in the coming weeks. In addition to deploying a single StriX satellite to low Earth orbit for this mission, Rocket Lab will perform an advanced mid-mission maneuver with Electron's Kick Stage to shield the satellite from the sun and reduce radiation exposure

"Дадут угла", как говорят дрифтеры? Развернут избушку к солнцу передом ступенью, а в тень задом спутником?...

... Для миссии будет использоваться расширенный головной обтекатель ракеты Electron. Полезную нагрузку планируется развернуть на круговой низкой околоземной орбите высотой 543 км через 57 минут после старта.
.... Одноразовая конфигурация. Возврат и спасение ступени не планируются.

Launch preparations are progressing well for our mission for @synspective, but Mission Control is keeping a close eye on a band of heavy rain and thick cloud heading its way to the launch site. Weather POV currently = 60%.
Приближается сильный дождь.

Curious about our next mission's fairing? It was made specifically for the wide body of @synspective's  StriX satellite and is one of the many ways we can tailor our dedicated launches for our customers.
