Mission Details
Arabsat 7B (Badr 8 )
The Arabsat 7B (Badr 8 ) satellite is a new generation telecommunications satellite manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space for Arabsat that will replace and augment Arabsat's capabilities, the satellite will be based on the-state-of-the-art Airbus Eurostar Neo electric orbit raising platform. BADR-8 will also include the innovative Airbus developed TELEO optical communications payload demonstrator. This payload will enable very high capacity analogue optical feeder link communications, as part of the development by Airbus of a new generation of optical communications technology in space to be integrated in its future commercial products, which is highly robust against jamming.

The Arabsat 7B satellite, better known as BADR-8, has been shipped to Cape Canaveral! The ~4.500kg satellite is based on Airbus' Eurostar-Neo satellite bus and is scheduled to be launched later this month aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9! Launch is set for May 22nd at 03:20 UTC.

While B1080-1 is rolling to LC-39A ahead of Axiom-2, B1077-5 is being moved to SLC-40 to be prepared for it's next mission! The booster will likely support the Arabsat 7B / BADR-8 mission next, which is currently scheduled for May 24th at 03:25 UTC.

ЦитироватьSpaceX is targeting Tuesday, May 23 for Falcon 9's launch of the ARABSAT BADR-8 mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The 127-minute launch window opens at 11:25 p.m. ET (03:25 UTC on May 24). If needed, there is a backup opportunity available on Wednesday, May 24 with the same window.

The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched GPS III Space Vehicle 04, GPS III Space Vehicle 05, Inspiration4, Ax-1, Nilesat 301, OneWeb Launch 17, and seven Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

A live webcast of this mission will begin about 15 minutes prior to liftoff...

ЦитироватьМосква. 24 мая. INTERFAX.RU - Запуск ракеты Falcon 9 с телекоммуникационным спутником BADR-8 арабского оператора Arabsat, планировавшийся в среду, перенесен из-за неблагоприятных погодных условий, сообщила компания-разработчик носителя SpaceX.
Запуск предполагалось осуществить в среду утром с 40-го стартового комплекса на базе американских космических сил на мысе Канаверал во Флориде.
Спутник предназначен для обеспечения связи в Европе, на Ближнем Востоке, в Африке и Центральной Азии. Он также оснащен модулем TELEO компании Airbus для обеспечения оптической связи на гигабитных скоростях.
Масса спутника составляет 4,5 тонн.
