Последний 117й запуск Ариан 5
ЦитироватьLa Tribune writes here that the launch will take place in June. We will see.
The ground segment of H2SAT is not yet ready after that article.
The French Air and Space Force, meanwhile, is pretty unhappy with how things are going with Syracuse 4B.

https://www.latribune.fr/entreprises-finance/industrie/aeronautique-defense/le-retard-du-satellite-allemand-h2sat-repousse-le-lancement-de-syracuse-4b-948096.html

With a launch at the beginning of July, there would only be 2 weeks until the 2.5-month extension for the launch of H2SAT at the ITU is over.

Syracuse 4B 3,853 kilograms
ЦитироватьSyracuse (French: Système de radiocommunication utilisant un satellite, satellite based radiocommunication system)
is a series of French military communications satellites.

Syracuse is intended to ensure the French military can communicate between mainland France and military units deployed around the world.
The satellite participates in command, reassignment and logistic aspects of operations.
The system is nominally under the command of the French Navy, equipping a total of 54 ships (2009) and it is complemented by the Telcomarsat commercial system of communications.

Syracuse 4
The first satellite of this family, Syracuse 4A, was launched on 24 October 2021
with an Ariane 5 ECA rocket from the Guiana Space Centre.
It was built by Thales Alenia Space, and has a launch mass of 3,853 kilograms (8,494 lb)
and uses a plasma propulsion engine.

Heinrich Hertz  3450 kg
ЦитироватьThe german Heinrich Hertz or H2Sat aims to explore and test new communications technologies in space at a technical and scientific level in order to determine how broadband communications, for example, can result in high data rates for mobile final users.

The development is performed by OHB System on behalf of the space agency of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) using funding provided by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) with the participation of the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg). The contract to build, launch and operate the satellite was signed with OHB in June 2017.

As well as this, the mission will offer universities, research institutes and industry a platform for conducting numerous scientific/technical experiments. The selection of the new German satellite SGEO will simultaneously support the goal systematically being pursued by ESA and Germany in the ARTES 11 program of building up system skills in this area in Europe and extending German capabilities in the area of satellites and telecommunications payloads.

Mission objectives are:

Scientific/technical verification of hardware and software and scientific experiments in the area of communications.
Preparations/testing of pre-operational satcom services for German (public-sector) users.
Besides the scientific and technological part of the mission on behlf of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), there is also a cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) to provide additional and independent communications for the german armed forces (Bundeswehr).

OHB will build the satellite based on the SmallGEO bus.

Last flight of Ariane 5, after 117 flights. In 27 years of service, Ariane 5 has launched dozens of commercial payloads, as well as multiple major scientific missions (XMM Newton, Rosetta, Herschel, Planck, BepiColombo, JWST, and JUICE), and Europe's very first spacecraft, the ATV.

Mission Details
Syracuse 4B
The Comsat-NG (Communication par satellite de nouvelle génération), then renamed Syracuse-4, contract signed in December 2015 covers the construction and launch of two military communications satellites for the French armed forces, to replace the Syracuse 3A and 3B satellites, launched in 2005 and 2006, respectively. These new satellites will enter into service in 2021 and will give France a higher-performance system featuring new services.
Offering a design life of 15 years, the two satellites will have identical X- and Ka-band payloads, built by Thales Alenia Space as the prime contractor. One will use the full electric Spacebus-Neo platform, while the other will be built on the full electric Eurostar-3000EOR platform. The Syracuse-4 satellites will feature unrivaled resistance to even the most extreme jamming methods, thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, including an active anti-jamming antenna and a digital onboard processor.

#VA261 will not be just any launch... It also marks an end to the story of the #Ariane5, another volume in the thrilling Ariane saga!
For this auspicious occasion, we decided to create two patches! One for the mission and one celebrating the Ariane family.

ЦитироватьIt has come to light that there is a risk to the redundancy of a critical function on the Ariane 5. Consistent with safety requirements, Arianespace has decided to postpone the roll-out of the VA261 launch vehicle. Analyses are underway to determine a new launch date.

The launcher and its satellites, Heinrich-Hertz-Satellit and SYRACUSE 4B, are in the final assembly building in stable and safe conditions.

ЦитироватьВо Франции отложили последний запуск европейской ракеты-носителя Ariane 5

Arianespace said they postponed the launch because of concerns about three pyrotechnical transmission lines after similar ones failed in tests. The suspect lines will be replaced. No new launch date, but an update planned for late June.
