Военные США доверят выведение космического аппарата NTS-3 ракете Вулкан
United Launch Alliance объявила о том, что она в 2022 году выведет на орбиту экспериментальный навигационный аппарат NTS-3 (Navigation Technology Satellite-3). В качестве средства выведения она будет использовать ракету Вулкан. Предполагается, что помимо демонстрационного спутника на орбиту также будет отправлена миссия USSF-106, однако последняя носит секретный характер и о ее целях ничего не известно. Как отмечают в ULA, до военных пусков ее новая ракета должна будет обеспечит выведение в период начиная с 2021 года двух коммерческих космических аппаратов.
Относительно спутника NTS-3 известно, что это 1250 кг аппарат, который создается L3Harris по $84 млн. контракту с исследовательской лабораторией ВВС США (AFRL). Контракт на его создание был подписан в декабре 2018 года. После выведения спутник должен будет, находясь на геосинхронной орбите, дополнять среднеобитальную группировку GPS. С точки зрения технологий он будет отрабатывать такие системы, как фазированные антенные решетки и перепрограммируемые бортовые системы. Спутник будет создаваться на основе платформы Northrop Grumman ESPAStar, пишет Ecoruspace.

Mission Details
NTS-3
NTS-3 (Navigation Technology Satellite 3) is a demonstration navigation satellite. NTS-3 will experiment with a new digital signal generator that can be reprogrammed on-orbit, enabling it to broadcast new signals, improve performance by avoiding and defeating interference, and adding signatures for detecting spoofing attacks.
NTS-3 will be the aft payload on the USSF-106 mission.

USSF-106
Other payloads on the USSF-106 mission have not been announced – potentially due to the classified nature of the mission.

LETS GOOOOO!! The USSF has officially certified ULA's Vulcan for National Security launches! Vulcan has a backlog of at least 25 known NSSL launches. The first of those, USSF-106 & 87, are set to launch in the coming months, with their hardware already at the Cape!
