STARLINK MISSION

On Tuesday, October 6 at 7:29 a.m. EDT, 11:29 UTC, SpaceX launched 60 Starlink satellites from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Falcon 9's first stage previously supported launch of Crew Dragon's first flight to the International Space Station with NASA astronauts onboard and the ANASIS-II mission. Following stage separation, SpaceX landed Falcon 9's first stage on the "Of Course I Still Love You" droneship, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. One of Falcon 9's fairing halves supported two previous Starlink launches, and Ms. Tree successfully caught that fairing half after launch. The Starlink satellites deployed approximately 1 hour and 1 minute after liftoff.

Last week, emergency responders in Washington State shared their experience using Starlink. In the wake of the wildfires that devastated areas of the state in August, first responders there have been using the service for their purposes and to help bring the residents of Malden internet service while they rebuild their community. Malden is located about 35 miles south of Spokane, Washington, which falls within the northern latitudes our satellites currently service. The way emergency responders deployed Starlink in this context is representative of how Starlink works best--in remote or rural areas where internet connectivity is unavailable.

Our Starlink network is still in its early stages, but as our network grows our coverage will grow as well.

Sometimes, delays are absolutely worth it. Five tries over a 19-day period, with the launch time moving about 20 minutes earlier per day, led to a sunrise blastoff of Falcon 9 with Starlink 12 this morning.

One Falcon, two exposures.

Nine Merlins put off a *lot* of light, making it difficult to expose for both the rocket and flame. Here are two different takes on the same thing. One with Falcon basking in the golden sunlight, and one with a detailed view of the exhaust plume. 🤩

This morning, @TrevorMahlmann took one of the coolest rocket launch photos I have ever seen! 🤯

Trevor put a lot of work into this photo, and I'm psyched to say Flight Club played a role in that preparation. Watch here to see how!

Nice work, Trevor! 🚀 🌞

A string of numbers so sweet.  The Eastern Range (@45thSpaceWing) launch drought broke this morning at 07:29:34.541 EDT.  Sweet, sweet liftoff numbers to the millisecond.
Спасибки за наводку уходят ув. Salo (см. #1108)

It would appear that SpaceX is standing down the droneship for the GPS mission and recalling it to Port Canaveral.

Tug Hawk and Just Read the Instructions droneship got underway from the LZ shortly after the Starlink mission earlier today.

Ms. Tree and Ms. Chief have departed from the recovery zone and are heading towards Port Canaveral.

The journey usually takes ~24 hours. Updates throughout tomorrow!

The fairing catchers should be back sometime later tonight with their catch and scoop. They are moving along at a swift pace. #SpaceXFleet

As expected, JRTI does not have a booster on deck and is able to move faster. Hawk is a bit farther behind with the Starlink booster. It will be interesting to see if they end up meeting up at the Port Canaveral Anchorage to come in together. #SpaceXFleet

Crane coming in to rig up Ms. Tree's fairing half. This half has supported two previous Starlink missions and successfully landed in Tree's net during the 13th Starlink mission 🙌🏼
