This is the first time SpaceX has recovered all three Falcon Heavy boosters on the same flight. During the Falcon Heavy's inaugural mission last year, the center core crashed near the drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean after it ran out of engine igniter fluid.

With today's landings, SpaceX has recovered 38 Falcon boosters on the company's drone ships and at landing zones at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Arabsat 6A will maneuver into a circular geostationary orbit over the next two-and-a-half weeks using its on-board main engine.

The first signals from the Arabsat 6A communications satellite have been acquired, confirming the craft is alive after launching aboard SpaceX's first operational Falcon Heavy rocket this evening.

After deploying its solar arrays and completing further maneuvers to enter geostationary orbit, Arabsat 6A will go through several weeks of testing before Lockheed Martin hands over control of the spacecraft to Arabsat, a consortium of 21 Arab states based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Arabsat 6A will provide television, radio, Internet and mobile communications services over the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe.
