SpaceX's live coverage of today's launch will be different than normal. The company's webcast coverage of the ascent portion of the flight will end around 3 minutes after liftoff, once the Falcon 9's payload fairing is jettisoned, at the request of the U.S. Air Force.

Live video of the first stage's descent and landing will continue, with touchdown set for T+plus 8 minutes, 14 seconds, at Landing Zone 1 at nearby Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

T-minus 11 minutes and counting. The Falcon 9 rocket stands 229 feet tall and measures 12 feet in diameter. At liftoff, its nine Merlin 1D first stage engines will generate about 1.7 million pounds of thrust.
Fully fueled for launch, the Falcon 9 contains more than a million pounds of kerosene and liquid oxygen propellants.
