T-minus 2 hours and counting. Good day fr om NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, wh ere a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is counting down to liftoff at 2:10 p.m. EDT (1410 GMT) with Bulgaria's first communications satellite.

The roughly 8,150-pound (3,700-kilogram) satellite, built by Space Systems/Loral in Palo Alto, California, is heading for a high-altitude supersynchronous transfer orbit more than 37,000 miles (60,000 kilometers) above Earth on today's half-hour rocket flight.

Weather is nearly ideal for a liftoff from Florida's Space Coast this afternoon, with mostly sunny skies, a few puffy fair weather cumulus clouds, and light winds.

Today's launch will be the 36th flight of a Falcon 9 rocket since it debuted in June 2010, and the eighth Falcon 9 mission so far in 2017.

Critical milestones coming in the next hour include a poll by the SpaceX launch conductor to begin fueling the booster with super-chilled kerosene and liquid oxygen propellants.

The timeline for today's countdown calls for RP-1 kerosene, chilled to around 20 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 6 degrees Celsius), to begin flowing into the two-stage rocket at T-minus 70 minutes. Liquid oxygen loading will follow at T-minus 45 minutes.

A poll of the SpaceX launch team is expected at T-minus 73 minutes to give a "go" for fueling operations.
