In another deorbit phase for Iridium's Block 1 vehicles. Deboosted SV32, SV91, SV59 and SV14 already this month. SV60 starts down tomorrow. SV95, SV55, SV64, SV58, SV45 will be processed in March, with SV54 in early April. Considering SV97 and SV61 schedule (last 2!). #Flarewell

The @penn_state OSIRIS-3U cubesat reentered on Mar 7 around 0700 UTC. It was deployed from ISS on 2017 Nov 21; I haven't heard whether it ever returned data (no update on its website since deployment, which usually isn't a good sign)

Updating the deorbit plan for our #Flarewell friends, I can now confirm that SV97 and SV61 in Plane 4 have received a reprieve to deboost later in 2019, closer to November when SV169 is expected to arrive to Plane 4 to be its spare. Enjoy their flares while you can!

SV32 became Iridium's 48th Block 1 reentry. It was launched 9/14/97 from Baikonur, and came down at 15:27 UTC heading northbound off the coast of Spain. 59, 91 and 14 also reentering this week. 58 deboosts so far. Another good soldier retired - thank you SV32! #flarewell

Another one bites the (actually, turns to) dust. SV059 becomes the 49th Iridium reentry. Launched 3/30/98 from VAFB, it reentered at 11:00 UTC today just shy of its 21st birthday. At reentry, it was northbound over the Arabian Sea. Thanks for your service, SV059! #flarewell

SV91 is our 50th reentry (of 59 deboosts) - and 2 more are coming down in the next 7 days (14 and 60). SV91 launched 2/11/02 from VAFB, and entered today at 8:39UTC. Was a storage satellite for 7 years and then replaced the infamous SV33. Anyone in Russia see it? #flarewell!
