DOCKING! The Soyuz MS-04 spacecraft has docked to the Poisk module of the space station, delivering Russian commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and NASA flight engineer Jack Fischer to the complex after a six-hour, four-orbit trip from the launch pad at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Yurchikhin and Fischer are starting a four-and-a-half month expedition on the space station. They are due to return to Earth in early September.

Over the next few minutes, the Soyuz docking probe will retract to allow hooks and latches to bring the spacecraft to a firm seal with the station. Hatches between the two vehicles will be opened around 11:05 a.m. EDT (1505 GMT).
