NASA TV coverage of the Soyuz flight has resumed as the crew capsule is less than an hour away from docking with the International Space Station's Poisk module.

The 7.9-ton capsule's automated rendezvous sequence, guided by its Kurs radar system, will commenced at 7:12 a.m. EDT (1112 GMT).

The Soyuz should be in position to start a flyaround maneuver at range of about 400 meters, or 1,300 feet, at about 8:57 a.m. EDT (1257 GMT) to line up with the docking port on the space station's space-facing Poisk module. Soyuz commander Fyodor Yurchikhin will be standing by to take over manual flying of the spacecraft if required. Final approach will begin about 11 minutes before docking, which is scheduled for 9:23 a.m. EDT (1323 GMT).

No major problems have been reported during the Soyuz rendezvous sequence. The Soyuz MS-04 spacecraft should have established a communications link with the International Space Station by now, the capsule's Kurs navigation radar should be activated, and the automated rendezvous is underway.

Docking with the space station's space-facing Poisk module is set for 1323 GMT (9:23 a.m. EDT).

Решение по продлению полета Уитсон все еще не принято, хотя Пегги за это двумя руками. В чем затык неизвестно. Решение должно быть принято до старта Юрчихина, иначе Пегги вернется со своим экипажем.

Такое бывало не часто, чтобы космонавт оставался на вторую смену экспромтом, т.е. когда решение об этом принималось во время его полёта, а не до старта.
