ISRO to launch GSLV Mark III-D1 on June 5 with 4-tonne payload

ЦитироватьHYDERABAD, MAY 12:  In yet another major step towards being self reliant in the country's space programme and tap into opportunities in the global marketplace, the Indian Space Research Organisation will launch GSLV Mark III-D1 with a payload of four tonnes on June 5.

"As on today, ISRO has the capability to launch payloads of up to 2.2 tonnes and anything above that it had to tap Ariane or other launch facilities. This will be a significant move from us," the ISRO Chairman and Secretary, Department of Space, AS Kumar, said.

The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III is a gamechanger capable of launching 4-tonne category of satellites from Sriharikota. It packs an Indian cryogenic third stage and higher payload as against the current GSLV.

Apart from deploying advanced spacecraft technologies, the satellite would carry ka and ku-band payload along with a Geostationary Radiation Spectrometer that will help research space radiation.

The Space Secretary said that ISRO will soon launch an innovative Outreach centre in Hyderabad, which would serve as a hub/centre for research, and base for start-ups and entrepreneurs to explore new business opportunities.

The huge amount of data collected by various space missions, and its learnings would be made accessible to people. This centre is expected to come up near Jeedimatla in the city limits.

In a boost to the country's quest to drive electric vehicles, ISRO has outlined plans to share its learnings and expertise in lithium ion battery technologies for commercial use.

Kiran Kumar said, "Over the years, ISRO has developed a number of technologies towards indigenisation and self reliance, and the capability of developing efficient lithium ion batteries is one such area which we can share for further development."

"We have developed technologies which help batteries run for up to 10-12 years and even more. This learning can be shared with entrepreneurs for commercialisation and come out with cost effective batteries for use in electric vehicles and other applications." he said.

Speaking at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, the ISRO chief said: "ISRO handled more than 151 missions that have been completed. These include 88 satellite programmes and 59 satellite launch vehicles."

"The launch of 104 satellites on a single mission earlier this year demonstrated our space technology capability," he said.

Referring to ISRO contributions, he said that the technologies developed and data available through various satellites it has launched is being used for applications in agriculture, weather forecasting and in tele-medicine. Efforts are on to see if a Postman could serve as a link between farmers and government, he said.

The much-awaited launch of the GSLV Mark-3 rocket, carrying the nearly three-tonne Gsat-19 satellite, is scheduled for June 5 at 4.30pm in Sriharikota, Isro officials said on Friday. This will be the first developmental flight of the rocket. The experimental flight was on December 14, 2014.According to Isro, Gsat-19 will employ advanced spacecraft technologies.

శ్రీహరికోట (సూళ్లూరుపేట): జీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ మార్క్‌–3 ప్రయోగానికి అన్ని ఏర్పాట్లు జరుగుతున్నాయి. వచ్చే నెల ఐదున శ్రీపొట్టిశ్రీరాములు నెల్లూరు జిల్లాకు చెందిన శ్రీహరికోటలోని భారత అంతరిక్ష ప్రయోగ కేంద్రమైన సతీష్‌ధావన్‌ స్పేస్‌ సెంటర్‌ (షార్‌) నుంచి దీన్ని ఇస్రో ప్రయోగించనుంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో షార్‌లోని రెండో ప్రయోగ వేదికకు అనుసంధానంగా ఉన్న సాలిడ్‌ స్టేజ్‌ అసెంబ్లింగ్‌ బిల్డింగ్‌ (ఎస్‌ఎస్‌ఏబీ) మూడు దశల రాకెట్‌ అనుసంధానాన్ని బుధవారం పూర్తి చేశారు. ఎస్‌ఎస్‌ఏబీ నుంచి రాకెట్‌ను ప్రయోగవేదిక మీద అనుసంధానం చేసేందుకు వెహి కల్‌ మూమెంట్‌ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ఈ నెల 27న చేపట్టనున్నారు.

 ఈ రాకెట్‌ ద్వారా 4.5 టన్నుల బరువు కలిగిన జీశాట్‌–19ను రోదసీలోకి పంపనున్నారు. ఇదిలా ఉండగా షార్‌లోని మొదటి ప్రయోగ వేదిక నుంచి పీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ సీ–38ను జూన్‌ 23న ప్రయోగించేందుకు ఇస్రో నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. దీనికి సంబంధించి పీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ రాకెట్‌లోని రెండో దశను అనుసంధానం చేసే ప్రక్రియను గురువారం పూర్తి చేశా రు. కాగా, జీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ మార్క్‌–3 ప్రయోగం జూన్‌ 5న ముగియగానే ఎస్‌ఎస్‌ఏ బీలో పీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ సీ–39 రాకెట్‌ క్యాంపైన్‌ను ప్రారంభించేందుకు సన్నాహాలు చేస్తు న్నారు. తద్వారా జూన్‌లో ఇస్రో శాస్త్రవేత్తలు 3 ప్రయోగాలకు సిద్ధమవుతున్నారు.

This launch is going to take place from SDSC, SHAR in Nellore District.On Wednesday, the integration of all the three stages was completed at the Solid Stage Assembly Building connected to the 2nd launch pad. On 27th of this month, they are planning to move the vehicle to the launch pad.

Through this rocket, GSAT-19 spacecraft weight 4.5 tonnes is going to be placed in orbit. In the mean while, ISRO has decided to launch PSLV-C38 on June-23rd from the first launch pad. As part of this,the integration of PSLV's second stage was completed On Thursday. Add of this, just after the completion of GSLv-MKIII launch on June-5, the integration of PSLV-C39 is to be started in SSAB. With this, ISRO plans to complete 3 launches in June.

జీఎస్‌ఎల్వీ-మార్క్‌3 రాకెట్‌ను శనివారం ఉదయం 6 గంటలకు షార్‌లోని రెండో ప్రయోగ వేదికపైకి తరలించి ఉబ్లికల్‌ టవర్‌ (యూటీ)కి చేరవేశారు. పీఎస్‌ఎల్వీ, జీఎస్‌ఎల్వీ రాకెట్‌లు ప్రయోగవేదికపైకి చేరిన తదుపరి 9 రోజుల పాటు వివిధ పరీక్షలు నిర్వహించేవారు. ప్రస్తుతం జీఎస్‌ఎల్వీ-మార్క్‌3 కొత్తతరహా రాకెట్‌ కావడంతో 10 రోజులపాటు వివిధ పరీక్షలు నిర్వహించాలని శాస్త్రవేత్తలు నిర్ణయించారు.

Rocket on the launch pad
The GSLV-Mark3 rocket was shifted to the Second Launch Pad at SHAR on Saturday morning at 6 am to the Umbilical Tower. The next 9 days of the launch of GSLV rocket will go through a series of checks. Scientists have decided to conduct various tests for 10 days with the current GSLV-Mark3 new rocket.

GSLV Mk III-D1
GSLV-Mk III is capable launching 4 ton class of satellites to Geosynchronous Transfer orbit (GTO). It is a three-stage vehicle with two solid motor strap-ons (S200), a liquid propellant core stage (L110) and a cryogenic stage (C25).

GSLV-Mk III-D1 is the first developmental flight, carrying 3136 kg GSAT-19 satellite to a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). The vehicle is configured with a 5 m ogive payload fairing and slanted strap-on nose cone to provide aerodynamic robustness.

GSAT-19 satellite with a lift-off mass of 3136 kg, is the communication satellite of India, configured around the ISRO's standard I-3K bus.

GSAT-19 carries Ka/Ku-band high throughput communication transponders. Besides, it carries a Geostationary Radiation Spectrometer (GRASP) payload to monitor and study the nature of charged particles and the influence of space radiation on satellites and their electronic components. GSAT-19 also features certain advanced spacecraft technologies including miniaturised heat pipe, fibre optic gyro, Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) accelerometer, Ku-band TTC transponder, as well an indigenous Lithium-ion Battery.
