МОСКВА, 19 дек - РИА Новости. Компания SpaceX вновь отложила запуск ракеты-носителя Falcon 9 с новейшим спутником геолокации GPS для ВС США, чтобы провести дополнительные проверки сенсоров первой ступени, говорится в заявлении корпорации.

"Отменяем сегодняшнюю попытку запуска GPS III SV01 для того, чтобы дополнительно провести оценку сенсоров первой ступени, подтвердим новую дату запуска, когда (этот процесс) завершится", - говорится в сообщении, размещенном на официальном аккаунте компании в Twitter.

Старт ракеты с первым спутником серии GPS 3 должен был состояться во вторник в 17:11 мск с космодрома на мысе Канаверал (Флорида), но задерживался из-за ветра. Затем, за несколько минут до ожидаемого пуска, его отменили. Компания сообщила, что запуск был отложен "из-за ненадлежащих показателей сенсоров первой ступени". Следующая попытка должна была состояться в 17:07 мск 19 декабря.

Спутник GPS III SV01, получивший название Vespucci в честь итальянского путешественника Америго Веспуччи, будет запущен в рамках контракта SpaceX с ВС США.

Аппарат стоимостью около полумиллиарда долларов будет работать на орбите на высоте 20,2 тысячи километров над Землей. Ранее сообщалось, что на старте во Флориде будет присутствовать вице-президент США Майк Пенс.

SpaceX hopes to launch a Falcon 9 rocket at 9:03 a.m. EST (1403 GMT) Thursday from Cape Canaveral with the first in a new line of upgraded U.S. Air Force GPS navigation satellites, but stormy weather on Florida's Space Coast threatens to prevent liftoff.

The mission was pushed back from Tuesday to allow teams to study a sensor issue on the rocket.

Ground crews raised the Falcon 9 vertical Wednesday afternoon at Cape Canaveral's Complex 40 launch pad in preparation for final launch preps.

SpaceX tweeted late Wednesday that the company is proceeding with launch preparations for a potential liftoff Thursday morning, but noted the poor weather forecast.

Widespread rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast Thursday in Central Florida.
"Overnight into Thursday, thunderstorm chances increase as winds become southerly at 25-30 miles per hour," the Air Force's 45th Weather Squadron wrote in a forecast issued Wednesday. "From Thursday morning through near midnight, some thunderstorms could be severe with very strong wind gusts, hail or even isolated tornadoes."

The 80 percent probability of violating one of the launch weather constraints is due to concerns with exceeding constraints associated with the surface electric field, cumulus and thick cloud layer, and disturbed weather rules.

Weather conditions should improve somewhat Friday, but lingering rain showers, clouds and gusty winds will make for a 60 percent chance that the weather would prevent launch Friday if the mission is delayed.

The best shot at weather acceptable for a launch is expected Saturday, when there's just a 20 percent chance of violating a launch weather rule.

A check of the launch weather rules show conditions currently violate four mandatory criteria. The surface electric field mill, attached anvil, thick cloud and disturbed weather rules are all currently "red" for launch.

So that's Saturday, 22 December at 08:55 EST for #SpaceX and #GPSIII. Not surprising given the worst of the weather hasn't arrived at the Cape yet and tomorrow's forecast was somewhat iffy as this storm system pushes out of the area.
