An Antonov-124 transported a satellite from Beijing to Xichang on April 10th, apparently for launch in June. The strange thing is there are no Chinese built satellites large enough for using an An-124 to transport it to the launch site scheduled for launch this year.

Unless, of course, it's the rumored DFH-4 mil-com bird (ZX-1B?).....

This was a rumor the sixth Compass GEO satellite would be launched in June this year.

We can expect some updates on this from the 3rd China Satellite Navigation Conference in Guangzhou from May 15 -17.

It's unlikely this launch will be in June. If M2/M5 are launched in August, it's likely the G6 will be launched after that.

It is interesting to note that the Chinese 9ifly space forum is indicating a possible Yaogan Weixing-15 launch from Jiuquan in May as well as the launch of Yaogan Weixing-16 (?) from Taiyuan and the launch of the ZX-1B Zhongzing-1B military communications satellite from Xichang.

Not sure if the picture below is from the last two weeks (today?), but if true that shows the rocket has already been stacked. This might confirm the words of a launch processing team member, which said in his blog that they are doing "strenuous work" on today and tomorrow. If that's the case that the rocket was stacked today, expect the launch to be around May 28/29 or so.

Edit: this rumor assumes that the pictures below shows that the satellite has been transferred to the launch pad. But I'm not sure.

Someone posted the trip plans for a team of teenagers that will get a chance of watching this launch, and it seems that the launch is scheduled on May 25 or 26 (probably again at around 1600 GMT), although it states that "plans are subjected to changes".
