Kish Island, May 25, IRNA – Chancellor of Sharif University of Technology said the main model of Sharif Satellite has been constructed and will be launched into orbit soon.

Iran to put AUT SAT satellite into space

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian students will launch spatial model of AUT SAT satellite into space.

President of Iran's Amir Kabir prestigious University Alireza Rahaei said the students of the university have prepared the spatial version of AUT SAT satellite to be put into space in the near future.

He highlighted the importance of aerospace technology for the country, and reiterated that Amir Kabir University has focused on aerial and spatial industries projects.

The university is also working on Nahid Satellite and 150-seater plane.

Earlier this month, Iran unveiled a prototype model of Nahid telecommunications satellite.

The prototype model was unveiled during a ceremony attended by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi and Fazeli at an exhibition of Iran's latest space achievements and technologies here in the capital.

In November, Rahayee had announced that researchers at Amirkabir University of Technology had accomplished part of the studies on Satellite Nahid, and said it would be launched into the space with the backing of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA).

Rahayee noted that the industrial phases of the project had accomplished and researchers were now working on the launch phase

'Iran to launch Sharif Satellite into space in 3 months'

Iranian experts have finished the construction of the indigenous Sharif Satellite, scheduled to be launched into space in three months, says the head of the university where the satellite has been made.
 
"[The construction of] Sharif Satellite has been completed and it is currently in line to be launched," said Chancellor of Sharif University of Technology Reza Roosta-Azad in a Saturday interview.
 
Experts are using the time before the launch to upgrade the satellite, he added.
 
The Iranian academic noted that Sharif Satellite will be launched on board the indigenous Safir B-1 carrier.
 
More than 100 Iranian students, scholars and academics have been involved in designing and constructing the indigenous satellite, which weighs less than 50 kilograms, he added.

Reza Rousta Azad said on Tuesday that the satellite, which weighs less than 50 kilograms and will be launched on board the indigenous Safir B-1 carrier, will be placed into a Low Earth orbit (LEO) at an altitude between 350 kilometers (217 miles) and 500 kilometers (310 miles) above the Earth's surface.

He added that the satellite will capture images with an accuracy of less than 10 meters and then transmit them to stations on earth.

Iran to launch new home-made satellite soon

TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran is preparing to orbit a new home-made satellite, called Tadbir, in the near future, a senior advisor to President Hassan Rouhani announced on Sunday.

"As stated by the former head of Iran's Space Agency, Hamid Fazeli, today, the first satellite to be launched in the new government is called Tadbir," Presidential Advisor and the new ISA Chief Akbar Torkan said today.

Earlier this year, Chancellor of Iran's Sharif University of Technology Reza Rousta Azad announced that Iran would launch into orbit a new home-made satellite, called 'Sharif Sat', by the end of summer.

"We are through with building Sharif Sat and the satellite is waiting for launch," Rousta Azad told FNA in June.

Reminding that several more satellites are waiting for launch, he expressed the hope that Iran could send Sharif Sat into orbit in the first half of the current Iranian year (which started on March 21).

Rousta Azad said that Sharif Sat would orbit at a distance around 500 kilometers from the Earth, adding that the satellite would be launched on the back of home-made 'Safir B1' (Ambassador B1) carrier.

Earlier this year, Fazeli announced that the country would send 6 new home-made satellites, mostly made by Iranian universities, to the space in the current Iranian year.

"Based on the foreseen timeline, Fajr, Sharif Sat, Tolou, Zafar, and A-Test will be sent to the space by the end of the current year," Fazeli told reporters in Tehran.

He said that Mesbah is also among the satellites to be sent into orbit this year.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A senior Iranian academic figure said Iran is ready to send a home-made satellite, dubbed Sharifsat, into orbit by an indigenous satellite carrier.

"The satellite will be sent into space on board 'Safir B-1' satellite carrier to provide aerial photography and colourful imagery of the Earth," Reza Rousta Azad, Chancellor of Sharif University of Technology told Tasnim on Monday.

He also said Sharifsat, which weighs less than 50 kilograms, has been designed and constructed by more than 100 students, alumni and professors of Sharif University of Technology.

He added that the indigenous satellite's main task is to capture color images and transmit them to stations on earth.

Rousta Azad, however, did not specify the date on which the satellite would be blasted into orbit, saying the Iranian Space Agency has the authority to send Sahrifsat into space.

 В феврале Иран запустил в космос обезьяну, которая успешно вернулась на Землю на борту специального аппарата.

 Запуск в космос кошки, как и обезьяны, является подготовительной частью проекта, предусматривающего полет человека в космос. Его планируется осуществить в ближайшие 5-8 лет.

В Иране началось производство спутника AUT SAT

Между иранским Университетом Амир Кабира и Аэрокосмической организацией Ирана подписан контракт о производстве спутника AUT SAT, сказал эксперт по контрактам университета Шахрух Махдави. По его словам, проектировочные работы уже завершены и уже начался процесс производства спутника. Об этом сообщает агентство MEHR.
 По словам Махдави, общий вес спутника AUT SAT составляет 70-80 килограммов, он производится с целью наблюдений за почвой и состоянием сельскохозяйственных угодий.
Работа спутника также поспособствует уменьшению потерь от землетрясений, засухи и других природных катастроф.
В прошлом году Иран запустил на орбиту в 30-ю годовщину Исламской иранской революции первый спутник под названием "Умид".

Speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony for the World Space Week in Tehran, Fazeli told reporters that two new satellites, dubbed Tadbir (Prudence) and Zafar (Triumph), are to be sent into space in the future.

Tadbir satellite, he said, should undergo a series of prelaunch tests to validate its operational readiness, adding that such tests will take 2 to 3 months.

Afterwards, the indigenous satellite will be ready for blast-off, Fazeli announced.

Iran also launched its domestically-built Navid-e Elm-o Sanat (Harbinger of Science and Industry) satellite into orbit in February 2012.

Fezali further explained that Tadbir enjoys more advanced systems compared to Navid satellite, making it possible to capture images with higher precision.

The Iranian official also noted that Zafar satellite will be sent into space in the next Iranian year (starts on 21 March 2014), on a satellite carrier, known as Simorgh (the Roc).
