NASA has decided to launch the multibillion-dollar Europa Clipper mission on a commercial heavy-lift rocket in October 2024, and not on the government-owned Space Launch System, officials said Wednesday.

Jeff Foust  @jeff_foust
At the Outer Planets Assessment Group meeting, Bob Pappalardo said the Europa Clipper project received formal direction Jan. 25 to cease efforts to support compatibility with SLS; plan is to proceed with a commercial launch vehicle [like Falcon Heavy].

NASA has assigned two crew members to launch on the agency's SpaceX Crew-4 mission - the fourth crew rotation flight of the Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station.
NASA astronauts Kjell Lindgren and Bob Hines will serve as spacecraft commander and pilot, respectively, for the Crew-4 mission. Additional crew members will be assigned as mission specialists in the future by the agency's international partners.
The mission is expected to launch in 2022 on a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Lindgren, Hines, and the international crew members will join an expedition crew aboard the space station for a long-duration stay...

DART Launch Moves to Secondary Window
The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART), NASA's first flight demonstration for planetary defense, seeks to test and validate a method to protect Earth in case of an asteroid impact threat. The mission aims to shift an asteroid's orbit through kinetic impact - specifically, by impacting a spacecraft into the smaller member of the binary asteroid system Didymos to change its orbital speed. At the request of Science Mission Directorate (SMD) senior leadership, a risk assessment was performed on the DART project schedule to determine the viability of the primary (July 21, 2021 to August 24, 2021) and secondary (November 24, 2021 to February 15, 2022) launch periods. Based on the results of this assessment, SMD determined the primary launch period is no longer viable and has directed the DART project pursue their secondary launch window. The DART project is currently working with SpaceX and NASA's Launch Services Program (LSP) to identify the earliest possible launch opportunity within this secondary window...

New launch date of #Starlink v1.0-L17 NET 01 March ~01:37 UTC, alternatively 02 to 03 March, based on issued NOTAM for Stage2 re-entry.

Hearing from several sources that the realistic NET date for Artemis I is now February, 2022. (@NASASpaceflight has reported the same). This assumes a good SLS core stage hot fire test in early March.
