Об этом сообщил в среду министр транспорта и инфраструктуры Адиль Караисмаилоглу.
Геостационарный спутник связи охватит вещанием Турцию, страны Европы, север Африки и страны Ближнего Востока. Türksat 5A будет работать в диапазоне Ku с точки 31 градус восточной долготы.
Спутник предназначен для телевещательных услуг и услуг широкополосной передачи данных.

В качестве средства выведения она будет использовать ракету Вулкан. Предполагается, что помимо демонстрационного спутника на орбиту также будет отправлена миссия USSF-106, однако последняя носит секретный характер и о ее целях ничего не известно. Как отмечают в ULA, до военных пусков ее новая ракета должна будет обеспечит выведение в период начиная с 2021 года двух коммерческих космических аппаратов.

Относительно спутника NTS-3 известно, что это 1250 кг аппарат, который создается L3Harris по $84 млн. контракту с исследовательской лабораторией ВВС США (AFRL). Контракт на его создание был подписан в декабре 2018 года. После выведения спутник должен будет, находясь на геосинхронной орбите, дополнять среднеобитальную группировку GPS. С точки зрения технологий он будет отрабатывать такие системы, как фазированные антенные решетки и перепрограммируемые бортовые системы. Спутник будет создаваться на основе платформы Northrop Grumman ESPAStar, пишет Ecoruspace.

По условиям контрактов, начиная с 2022 года, Intelsat запустит четыре своих спутника на двух ракетах Falcon 9 и ещё два спутника на ракете Ariane 5. Запуск последнего седьмого спутника может быть предоставлен как SpaceX, так и Arianespace, компания выберет тех, кто сможет осуществить более своевременный запуск. Кроме того Intelsat наградит любую компанию, не запустившую седьмой спутник, контрактом на ещё один отдельный, более поздний запуск.

Общая сумма контрактов на запуск составляет $390 млн, Intelsat отказался указать, как эти деньги будут разделены между двумя компаниями.
Федеральная комиссия по связи США (FCC) хочет задействовать диапазон частот для мобильных услуг 5G, который уже используется другими спутниковыми компаниями. Она хочет помочь американским операторам мобильной связи расширить охват сетей 4 и 5G в сельской местности. Для этого FCC платит компаниям за замену спутников, и по этой программе Intelsat может получить почти $5 млрд.
Эти деньги помогут снизить долговую нагрузку Intelsat, которая сейчас составляет почти $15 млрд до того, как в мае компания добровольно подала заявление о защите от банкротства. Именно поэтому компания активно строит спутники и готовится к запускам, что вызывает протесты их конкурентов в борьбе за рынок спутниковых услуг, но одновременно благоприятно сказывается на рынке пусковых услуг, которые только выигрывают от новых запусков телекоммуникационных компаний.

ИНТЕРФАКС - Первый беспилотный полет нового американского космического корабля Orion в рамках программы Artemis состоится в 2021 году, сообщил глава космического агентства США Джим Брайденстайн, представляя на брифинге официальный план возвращения американцев на естественный спутник Земли.
       Тестовый полет корабля, названного Artemis-1, продлится около месяца. За ним в 2023 году последует пилотируемый полет Artemis-2 с экипажем на борту, рассказала руководитель программы коммерческих пилотируемых полетов NASA Кэти Лейдерс. Высадка на поверхность Луны на этом этапе не предусматривается.
       Согласно плану, в ходе миссии Artemis-3, которая должна состояться в 2024 году, уже будет осуществлена высадка астронавтов на поверхность Луны. Ее планируется осуществить в районе Южного плюса Луны. Два астронавта - мужчина и первая женщина на Луне, проведут на поверхности семь дней.
       План миссии Artemis-3 предусматривает использование астронавтами посадочного модуля для высадки на Луне. Второй вариант предполагает вначале стыковку с окололунной станцией Gateway, а затем уже использование посадочного модуля.
       Хотя окончательное решение по задействованию станции Gateway в ходе миссии Artemis-3 еще не принято, в рамках миссии Artemis-4 и всех последующих корабли Orion будут состыковываться о станцией Gateway. Два члена экипажа будут оставаться на ее борту на орбите, а остальные два астронавта отправятся на поверхность Луны.

Более конкретных сроков в нем не приводилось.
Изначально первый этап программы был намечен на конец 2020 года, а второй - на 2022 год, однако помощник заместителя директора NASA Том Уитмайер в середине мая информировал, что начало реализации Artemis 1 будет перенесено на конец 2021 года в связи с задержками при создании ракеты-носителя SLS из-за распространения коронавируса.
