Нашел в закромах NASA текст с иллюстрациями одной интересной книжки. Называется Mars Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Space Exploration Initiative

Вроде бы ftp открытый, никаких ограничений там я не встретил. Понятно, что это, так сказать, полуфабрикат для верстки, но тексты в приличном состоянии. Плюс там есть графики финансирования, какие-то таблицы и многое другое.

Весит, правда, все это 44 Мб, но там еще какие-то сырые картинки для верстки и прочее.
