Mission Details
Ovzon-3
Ovzon 3 is a planned small communications satellite of the Swedish / US company Ovzon .
The satellite was ordered in December 2018 from Maxar Technologies to meet the demand for increased mobile broadband connectivity in under-served regions. Ovzon selected the new mid-size SSL-500 (Legion class) platform for its first satellite. The satellite will be equipped with a third party built central on-board processor (OBP) attached to high-performance steerable Ku-band beams.

Ovzon confirms that their first dedicated satellite, Ovzon-3, is now set to launch NET Dec 22. It was scheduled to launch on Dec. 14, but was delayed due to the Starlink Group 6-34 mission, which itself was delayed due to weather. T-0 for Ovzon-3 is targeted for 21:46 UTC.

The launch of the Ovzon-3 satellite, which was previously scheduled for launch later today, is now scheduled for Early-January (it appears January 3rd is the target) due the ongoing shifts in SpaceX' manifest due to recent unfavorable weather conditions.

Ready for lift-off!

We are getting closer to the historic launch of our first satellite – Ovzon 3.

Ovzon 3 is the first privately funded and developed Swedish geostationary satellite ever to be launched. It's also the most powerful GEO satellite ever to be put into orbit covering 1/3 of the earth via its steerable spot beams. The satellite carries Ovzon's patented solution with high power steerable beams and unique software defined capabilities.

Launched via a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, Ovzon 3 will reach a geostationary transfer orbit. Once released from the rocket's 3rd stage at an apogee of 36,000 km, Ovzon 3 will utilize its internal electric propulsion system. Over a span of 3-4 months, it will gradually transition from the transfer orbit to its designated geostationary orbit position, or 'parking lot,' at 59.7 degrees east.

The launch of Ovzon 3 will take place at SpaceX Air Force Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. The exact launch date has not been finalized yet, but the time window allocated to us is during December. We will provide a more specific date as we receive additional details from SpaceX within the upcoming weeks.

ЦитироватьOvzon 3 is the first of Ovzon's revolutionary new class of satellites
Ovzon 3's patented solution, with high-powered steerable beams and a unique On-Board-Processor forever changes the way we think about Mobility, Performance and Resiliency
Two key technologies distinguish Ovzon 3 as a disruptive capability in the world of satellite communications: first, the most powerful steerable spotbeams in space, and second, Ovzon 3's On-Board-Processor. Together they represent an entirely new class of communications satellite that forever changes the way we think about mobility, performance and resiliency.

Steerable Spot Beams
Five independent, powerful steerable spot beams dynamically deliver capacity to the right place at the right time. Ovzon 3's steerable spot beams provide the best combination of power density (EIRP) and antenna receive performance (G/T) in orbit.

On-Board-Processor
Ovzon 3's On-Board-Processor represents truly disruptive technology that enables previously unavailable resiliency for assured connectivity when you need it most. The OBP is a powerful and sophisticated in-orbit processing platform that delivers key features and directly connects deployed terminals across multiple beams when teleports are degraded, destroyed or otherwise unavailable.

Ovzon 3 uniqueness
Ovzon 3 will boost the efficiency and performance of the current lineup of terminals, and has sparked another round of innovation in the development of new terminals that are closer in form factor to a smartphone than traditional satellite terminals. Pound for pound, ounce for ounce, Ovzon satellite terminals will always outperform the competition.

Security
Very Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (VLSNR) functionality:
Operating below the noise floor provides a crucial advantage in military operations by not allowing for the identification of these weak, concealed signals. This enhances situational awareness, allowing for covert
communication, early threat detection, and improved electronic warfare capabilities.

TRANSEC:
The Ovzon 3 OBP delivers what is a Transec comparable capability enhancing operational confidentiality, integrity, and reliability, contributing to mission success and overall military effectiveness.

Encryption:
Having NSA-approved Encrypted TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking, and Command) ensures secure control and command of the Ovzon 3 satellite, meaning that the mission of the satellite will not be compromised in any way by rogue states..

Resiliency
All weather capability:
The system is designed to provide high link availability in varying conditions and facilitate mobile satellite communications in any climate.

Autonomous operation:
Ability to continue Operation through a direct link between Ovzon 3 and our terminals even if the ground control station is compromised.

Future proof and customer-specificnetwork- adaptable:
Ovzon's OBP is reprogrammable in orbit to add new functionality and meet specific demands as they arise.

Flexibility
Steerable high-power beams:
The multiple steerable beams can dynamically move capacity where and when needed.

Packet Routing:
Full cross-connectivity routing between beams at individual packet level on the Ovzon 3 satellite ensures uninterrupted connectivity, optimized data transfer, and strategic operational advantages for military users.

Single-Hop/Mesh:
Allows direct communications between ultra-small terminals enables real-time video, voice, and data applications with minimal latency and high resilience in contested environments.
