One final graphic for the day.

The recovery fleet setup for the Starlink mission is almost complete.

Just Read the Instructions is at the booster LZ. Ms. Tree and Ms. Chief are at the fairing LZ. GO Quest and the recovery team are en-route from Morehead City.

Цитата: undefinedSpaceX is targeting Wednesday June 3 at 9:25 p.m. EDT, 1:25 UTC on June 4, for its eighth launch of Starlink satellites. Falcon 9 will lift off from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. A backup opportunity is available on Thursday, June 4 at 9:03 p.m. EDT, 1:03 UTC on June 5.

Falcon 9's first stage previously supported the Telstar 18 VANTAGE mission in September 2018, the Iridium-8 mission in January 2019, and two separate Starlink missions in May 2019 and in January 2020. Following stage separation, SpaceX will land Falcon 9's first stage on the "Just Read the Instructions" droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. Approximately 45 minutes after liftoff, SpaceX's fairing recovery vessels, "Ms. Tree" and "Ms. Chief," will attempt to recover the two fairing halves.

The Starlink satellites will deploy in an elliptical orbit approximately 15 minutes after liftoff. Prior to orbit raise, SpaceX engineers will conduct data reviews to ensure all Starlink satellites are operating as intended. Once the checkouts are complete, the satellites will then use their onboard ion thrusters to move into their operational altitude of 550 km. On this mission, SpaceX will launch the first Starlink satellite with a deployable visor to block sunlight from hitting the brightest spots of the spacecraft. You can watch the launch webcast here, starting about 10 minutes before liftoff.

SpaceX plans to launch its eighth batch of Starlink Internet satellites into orbit from Cape Canaveral at 9:25 p.m. EDT Wednesday (0125 GMT Thursday) aboard a Falcon 9 rocket powered by a first stage booster flown on four previous missions.

Weather conditions are forecast to be favorable Wednesday for SpaceX's ninth Falcon 9 flight of the year, but the weather team will be watching for isolated rain showers that could bring thick clouds and cumulus clouds over the launch pad.

The official launch weather forecast issued by the U.S. Space Force's 45th Weather Squadron predicts a 70 percent chance conditions will be acceptable for launch Wednesday night from Cape Canaveral's Complex 40 launch pad.

"A mid-level disturbance from the Gulf of Mexico will begin to approach the area, steadily increasing moisture and cloud cover heading into the nighttime hours," forecasters said. "Models have trended slightly faster with the returning moisture over the last several days, but given the time of day, the atmosphere is expected to be fairly stable.

"The main concerns will be the thick cloud layer rule due to upper level clouds streaming in from the west, and the cumulus cloud rule due to approaching isolated showers."

If the launch is delayed to the next day -- when SpaceX has a backup opportunity at 9:03 p.m. EDT (0103 GMT) -- conditions are forecast to worsen. There's a 40 percent chance of acceptable conditions Thursday night.

SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket will deliver 60 flat-panel Starlink satellites into an elliptical, or egg-shaped, orbit ranging between 132 miles (213 kilometers) and 226 miles (365 kilometers) above Earth. The satellites will use their ion thrusters to maneuver into their higher orbit for testing, before finally proceeding to an operational orbit at an altitude of approximately 341 miles (550 kilometers).

SpaceX plans separation of the flat-panel Starlink platforms -- held to the Falcon 9 upper stage with retentions rods during launch -- around 15 minutes into the mission while flying over the North Atlantic Ocean.

While the upper stage carries the Starlink satellites into orbit, SpaceX's Falcon 9 first stage booster will descend to a propulsive landing on the company's recovery vessel "Just Read the Instructions" in the Atlantic Ocean roughly 400 miles (630 kilometers) northeast of Cape Canaveral.

Two other ships are on station in the Atlantic to try and catch the two halves of the Falcon 9's payload shroud.

The weather outlook for tonight's launch at 9:25 p.m. EDT (0125 GMT) has worsened, with the latest forecast from the 45th Weather Squadron calling for a 60 percent chance of acceptable conditions for liftoff at Cape Canaveral.

"As of this morning, models and radar have not trended in a favorable direction for the launch window tonight, showing an increase in both moisture and shower coverage today," forecasters said this morning. "An area of showers and isolated thunderstorms to the south of the spaceport will continue to push north as the day progresses. These showers and storms, being aided by an upper level disturbance, will likely move into the area by the late morning and early afternoon as winds shift more southerly.

"Some models still hint that they may begin to dissipate or push far enough out of the area by the evening hours, but the moisture will linger, and the main concerns will be the thick cloud layer rule, the cumulus cloud rule, and the disturbed weather rule."

Go Quest ...

EDT)
Starlink.

Спасение створок обтекателя: Корабли с сетками Go Ms Tree и Go MsChief, в ~700 км от места старта.
Пресс-кит: vk.cc/av2oiP
