No firm T-0 is available, but it is believed that an Iranian Simorgh rocket is expected to make another attempt to reach orbit in the next few hours. The payload is the Zafar-1 Earth observation satellite.

Simorgh launcher, Zafar Satellite ready to be launched


Tehran, Feb 7, IRNA – Spokesman for Iran Aerospace Organization said Simorgh launcher and Zafar Satellite are ready to be launched into space from Imam Khomeini space center.

Ahmad Hosseini said Simorgh and Zafar have been transferred to Imam Khomeini spaceport, adding that all infrastructures have been prepared for the operation.

He noted that 200 main processes have been accomplished by 30 teams.

Hosseini referred to complicated conditions of launching Simorgh and Zafar, and said the launching operation will start once all grounds are prepared.

He noted that taking step by step data gathering and doing analyses are of importance for scientists to be able to take further strides.

Earlier, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi appreciated the efforts made by Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier Amir Hatami, saying Iranian Simorgh weighs over 80 tons and will take Zafar satellite to 530 km up into the outer atmosphere.

Meanwhile, in response to users' question with regard to cost of the project, Azari-Jahromi said that less than two million euro has been spent for making the satellite, adding that it would cost five times more if we wanted to buy it.

In the meantime, spokesman for Ministry of Defense Aerospace Organization Ahmad Hosseini said Iran broke the monopoly of nine states over know-how to launch satellites.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technology said on January 22 that Zafar Research Satellite has been developed by specialists and elites of the University of Science and Technology and has been delivered to the Space Organization for putting it into orbit.

The satellite has been designed for imaging, sending and saving messages and creating a link between the two users.

Preparing map of lands, basic map, civil development map, agricultural fields map, map on changes in lands natural environment and jungles, monitoring developments in seasonal and perpetual lakes, identifying damaged areas after the crisis and upgrading structural maps are among missions of the satellite.

Zafar also carries S&F consignment which provides features such as broadcasting a single message to all users, one-way voice communication between two users, sending a message to 256 direct users.

ТАСС, 9 февраля. Иранский спутник "Зафар" будет запущен 9 февраля. Об этом, как сообщило иранское агентство Fars, заявил в воскресенье министр информационно-коммуникационных технологий Ирана Мохаммад Джавад Азари Джахроми.

По его словам, "запуск спутника "Зафар" будет осуществлен сегодня ракетой-носителем "Симорг". "Иранский спутник должен быть выведен на орбиту в 530 км от Земли", - пояснил он.

Джахроми отметил, что сегодняшний запуск станет четвертой попыткой вывести спутник на околоземную орбиту. Три предыдущих запуска были неудачными.

В понедельник Джахроми заявил, что страна планирует вывести спутник "Зафар" до 7 февраля. Однако затем срок запуска был изменен. Отсрочка, как информировал иранский министр, была вызвана поиском оптимальных параметров, включая погодные и атмосферные условия.

TEHRAN, Feb. 09 (MNA) – The Iranian-made Zafar Satellite, which is scheduled for launch into space on Sunday evening, in a symbolic gesture, will transmit the image of the martyred Iranian commander, Lieutenant General Soleimani, at the start of its mission.

The satellite has been stationed at Semnan's Imam Khomeini Space Center and will be sent into orbit at an altitude of 530 kilometers by Simorgh launcher later today.

Over 400 recorded voice files of people will also be transmitted by the satellite, once it is put in the orbit.

Zafar is a 90-kilogram remote-sensing satellite equipped with color cameras and can be used for surveying oil reserves, mines, jungles and natural disasters. It will offer images of 22.5-meter resolutions.

Simorgh Satellite Launch Vehicle, also called Safir-2, is an Iranian expendable small-capacity orbital carrier rocket, which was originally scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2010.

       Дубай. 9 февраля. ИНТЕРФАКС - 9 февраля Иран запустит искусственный спутник Земли, сообщил министр по коммуникациям и информационным технологиям Ирана Мохаммад-Джавад Азари Джахроми.
      "Спутник" Зафар будет выведен сегодня на орбиту из Семнана со скоростью 7400 километров в час", - заявил он.
       Соединенные Штаты называют запуск Ираном искусственных спутников частью программы испытания баллистических ракет.
       В Вашингтоне обеспокоены тем, что баллистические технологии, используемые для вывода спутников на орбиту, могут также использоваться для запуска ядерных боеголовок.
       Тегеран отрицает, что спутниковая активность является прикрытием для ракетных разработок, и подчеркивает, что никогда не занимался разработкой ядерного оружия.
       Первый иранский спутник "Сина-1" запущен Россией 28 октября 2005 ракетой-носителем космодрома Плесецк. Иран стал 43-й страной со своим собственным спутником в космосе.
       С 2008 года Иран запускает спутники сам.

ТЕГЕРАН, 9 фев - РИА Новости. Иран не смог вывести спутник дистанционного зондирования земли "Зафар" при помощи ракеты-носителя "Симорг" на орбиту, сообщила государственная телерадиокомпания IRIB.
"Ракета-носитель успешно запустила в космос спутник "Зафар", однако ракета не смогла набрать необходимую скорость для того, чтобы вывести его на орбиту", - цитирует IRIB заявление минобороны Ирана.

В предыдущий раз - в январе 2019 года - Ирану не удалось вывести несколько спутников на орбиту. Тогда попытку осудил ряд западных стран, которые считают, что действия Ирана, использующего для этих целей ракеты-носители, не соответствуют резолюции СБ ООН 2231.
США и ряд других стран трактуют резолюцию СБ ООН 2231 таким образом, что она запрещает Ирану ракетные пуски. Россия обращала внимание на то, что точная формулировка содержит лишь соответствующий призыв.
