T+plus 2 minutes, 30 seconds. Solid rocket booster separation is confirmed. Both Aerojet Rocketdyne-made motors jettisoned from the Atlas V first stage, having completed their job of proving nearly half of the energy at liftoff.

Following SRB sep, Atlas V transitioned to closed-loop guidance to aim the trajectory towards a precise point in space to deploy Starliner for its trek to the International Space Station.

Staging

T+plus 4 minutes, 49 seconds. Successful staging and ignition of the Centaur upper stage is confirmed. Both engines are up and burning. The vehicle now weighs less tahn 9 percent of its liftoff mass.

The first stage of flight was completed with booster engine cutoff, or BECO, followed by separation of the Atlas V's common core booster.

That enabled the Centaur's dual RL10A-4-2 engines to begin their single firing in today's launch.

T+plus 5 minutes, 10 seconds. Aeroskirt jettison is confirmed. This structure below the Launch Vehicle Adapter provided aerodynamic stability during the flight to smooth the air flow over the vehicle.

The altitude of Atlas V and Starliner is now more than 400,000 feet.
