The crew experiences the period of maximum g-forces at this point during entry, as the Soyuz exits the sheath of plasma that surrounded it during the hottest part of the descent.

Reentry confirmed at 7.7 km/s.  Heat and plasma - caused by Soyuz superheating and ripping the air modules in the upper atmosphere apart - building around #SoyuzMS12. Communication loss at this time is NORMAL.
