A functional test of the swing arm system at the SLC-6 launch pad has been completed. The arms are programmed to swing away from the rocket at liftoff.

The Delta launch team is proceeding into slew, or steering, checks of the rocket's three RS-68A main engines and the RL10B-2 upper stage engine.

ULA's live coverage of today's launch will conclude with the jettison of the Delta 4's payload fairing around six minutes after liftoff. After that point, the launch events will occur in a news blackout imposed by the National Reconnaissance Office due to the classified payload on-board.

ULA and the NRO will announce the outcome of the launch once it is completed.
