"Launch auto has started." The final countdown sequence has commenced, starting the first steps to begin pumping propellants into the 229-foot-tall Falcon 9 at Vandenberg's Space Launch Complex 4-East.

RP-1 kerosene and liquid oxygen should now being pumped into the Falcon 9 rocket. The liquid oxygen is chilled to near minus 340 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 206 degrees Celsius).

The Falcon 9 rocket will deliver the SAOCOM 1A spacecraft to orbit around 10 minutes after liftoff, then deploy the satellite into a roughly 385-mile-high (620-kilometer) orbit at T+plus 12 minutes, 37 seconds.

The separation of the SAOCOM 1A radar observation satellite will kick off pre-programmed steps aboard the spacecraft to unfurl its solar panels and configure itself for early mission testing.

Later this month, SAOCOM 1A will deploy its L-band radar antenna, a critical step before the satellite can start collecting imagery.

Assuming that all goes according to plan, the satellite should begin collecting calibrated radar data for users by March 2019, according to Laura Frulla, SAOCOM 1A principal investigator at CONAE, the Argentine space agency.

Second stage cryogenic helium operations have started. The helium is used to pressurize the upper stage's propellant tanks.

The Falcon 9's second stage has been filled with RP-1 kerosene fuel. Fueling of the first stage continues, and liquid oxygen loading is still underway.
