"Obviously, there is a lot of relief on the team right now, a lot of celebration, a lot of excitement. I love spacecraft separation. It is the best part of a launch campaign," says NASA launch director Tim Dunn.
"So many hours are spent getting to this exact point when you know you have a healthy satellite that just separated from the launch vehicle about to go do its mission that it was intended for."

TDRS-M is free of the Centaur upper stage following this morning's climb to orbit aboard an Atlas V rocket that lifted off at 8:29 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
