The SpaceX launch conductor has polled his team, resulting in a unanimous "go" to begin propellant loading operations at T-minus 70 minutes.

T-minus 70 minutes and counting. The countdown auto sequence has officially started, kicking off the first steps to begin pumping propellants into the 229-foot-tall Falcon 9 at launch pad 39A.

RP-1 kerosene will be pumped into the two-stage Falcon 9 rocket first, followed by liquid oxygen chilled to near minus 340 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 206 degrees Celsius) at T-minus 45 minutes.

Boths stages of the launcher burn the same RP-1/liquid oxygen propellant mixture.

T-minus 13 minutes and counting. The Falcon 9 rocket stands 229 feet tall and measures 12 feet in diameter. At liftoff, its nine Merlin 1D first stage engines will generate about 1.7 million pounds of thrust.

Fully fueled for launch, the Falcon 9 contains more than a million pounds of kerosene and liquid oxygen propellants.

The EchoStar 23 satellite on top of the Falcon 9 rocket weighs around 12,345 pounds (5,600 kilograms) at launch.
