The Falcon 9 was lifted vertical again this morning in readiness for another launch attempt on a mission to deliver supplies and science experiments to the International Space Station.

The 15-minute operation to raise the rocket began around 6:45am EDT (1045 GMT).
Liftoff on Saturday is scheduled for 5:07 p.m. EDT (2107 GMT) but weather could be problem again. In a weather forecast issued yesterday, U.S. Air Force meteorologists predicted a 60% chance of acceptable conditions for launch, with thunderstorms and rain being the main concerns.

A forecast issued this morning by the U.S. Air Force's 45th Weather Squadron continues to predict a 40 percent chance storms and rain will prevent the Falcon 9 rocket from lifting off this afternoon.

"The ingredients needed for storm development will remain in place for the over Central Florida today," forecasters wrote. "However, storm steering mechanisms remain weak over the weekend, increasing the probability that storms developing early on over the Space Coast, will gradually migrate west of the spaceport with the sea breeze.

"The main concerns for both Saturday and Sunday are anvil and cumulus clouds, and flight through precipitation."

The outlook calls for overcast skies, isolated rain showers, east-southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph, and a launch time temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

If the launch is delayed to Sunday, the weather worsens slightly with a 50 percent chance conditions will violate the Falcon 9's launch commit criteria.
