ЦитироватьAriane 5 moves to the launch zone for Arianespace's November 10 mission

Ariane 5 nears completion of its transfer fr om the Spaceport's Final Assembly Building – where this heavy-lift vehicle received its Arabsat-6B (BADR-7) and GSAT-15 payloads – to the ELA-3 launch zone.

November 9, 2015 – Ariane Flight VA227
Arianespace has delivered another Ariane 5 to the launch zone at Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, positioning this workhorse vehicle for liftoff tomorrow with a pair of telecommunications satellites: Arabsat-6B (BADR-7) and GSAT-15.
The launcher rolled out today from the Spaceport's Final Assembly Building for Ariane 5 to the ELA-3 launch zone, wh ere it is scheduled for liftoff during a 43-minute window that opens November 10 at 6:34 p.m. local time in French Guiana.
For this 83rd overall flight of an Ariane 5, the payload lift performance is estimated at 9,810 kg. – a total that includes the two relay platforms, plus the launcher's dual-passenger dispenser system and satellite integration hardware.
Arabsat-6B will be lofted for Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space as part of a turnkey contract with Saudi Arabia-based Arabsat. To be renamed BADR-7 once in orbit, this spacecraft will provide broadcast, broadband and telecommunications services over the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
GSAT-15 – which was built by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) – is designed to deliver telecommunications services, as well as dedicated navigation-aid and emergency services, for India.

Launch timing for Ariane Flight VA227
UTC  Between 09:34 p.m. and 10:17 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2015

ЦитироватьAriane 5 enters the final countdown for today's dual-passenger mission

Arianespace's Ariane 5 is in the Spaceport's ELA-3 launch zone, ready for its dual-passenger flight with Arabsat-6B (BADR-7) and GSAT-15.

November 10, 2015 – Ariane Flight VA227
The final countdown is underway for Arianespace's Ariane 5 launch that will orbit two telecommunications satellites – Arabsat-6B (BADR-7) and GSAT-15 – from the Spaceport in French Guiana.
Liftoff is planned during a 43-minute launch window that opens at 6:34 p.m. local time in French Guiana.
Designated Flight VA227 in the company's numbering system, today's mission will be the sixth Ariane 5 flight from the Spaceport in 2015, as well as the 83rd launch overall for this heavy-lift workhorse.
Ariane 5 will loft approximately 9,810 kg. on the mission – including the dual-passenger payload and its associated hardware – releasing Arabsat-6B (BADR-7) at 27 minutes after liftoff, which is to be followed by GSAT-15's deployment some 16 minutes later.

Цитировать00:23  Success confirmed
Arianespace's chairman and chief executive Stephane Israel has confirmed success on today's launch, marking the Ariane 5's 69th consecutive successful flight since 2003.

00:18  GSAT 15 separation
The GSAT 15 communications satellite has deployed from the Ariane 5 rocket. Built and owned by the Indian Space Research Organization, the spacecraft will operate at least 12 years from geostationary orbit at 93.5 degrees east longitude, providing secure communications services to the Indian government and navigation signals to augment GPS coverage over India.

00:05  Sylda jettison
Plus+31 minutes. The Sylda dual-payload adapter has jettisoned, setting the stage for separation of GSAT 15 at Plus+43 minutes, 20 seconds.

00:02  Arabsat 6B separation
Separation of Arabsat 6B confirmed, beginning a 15-year mission for Riyadh-based Eutelsat. The satellite carries 27 Ku-band transponders and 24 Ka-band beams for television and broadband services over Africa, the Middle Eas and Central Asia from 26 degrees east longitude.
The Ariane 5's Sylda 5 dual payload adapter will be separated next, revealing the GSAT 15 spacecraft for its deployment in a few minutes.

23:58  Second stage shutdown
Plus+25 minutes, 10 seconds. The rocket's second stage shut down as scheduled. The upper stage is now maneuvering into the correct orientation for deployment of Arabsat 6B.

23:57  AOS Malindi, nearing second stage shutdown
Plus+24 minutes. The rocket is surpassing a speed of 20,500 mph. Shutdown of the upper stage is about a minute from now. A tracking station in Malindi, Kenya, is now in contact with Ariane 5.

23:54
Plus+21 minutes. The upper stage will shut down at Plus+24 minutes, 56 seconds, after reaching a target orbit with a low point of 153 miles, a high point of 22,236 miles, and an inclination of 4 degrees. The rocket is now being tracked by a ground station in Libreville, Gabon.

23:53
Plus+20 minutes. Everything is going well with the burn of the upper stage HM7B engine as the Ariane 5 races across the Atlantic Ocean at 8.44 kilometers per second, or nearly 19,000 mph.

23:50  Launch images

23:48  Plus+14 minutes, all normal
Plus+14 minutes. This upper stage engine is about 5 minutes into a planned 16-minute burn. Ariane 5 is at an altitude of 151 kilometers. A tracking station on Ascension Island in the Atlantic Ocean has picked up signals from the Ariane 5.

23:44  LOS Galliot
Plus+9 minutes, 45 seconds. The Ariane 5 has passed over the horizon from Kourou and is now out of range of the Galliot tracking station near the launch pad.

23:44  Staging confirmed
Plus+9 minutes, 15 seconds. The main cryogenic stage's Vulcain engine has cut off and the spent stage has separated. It will fall back into the atmosphere into the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of Africa.
And the upper stage's HM7B engine is now firing to inject the Arabsat 6B and GSAT 15 satellites into orbit.

23:42
Plus+8 minutes. Now in range of a communications station in Natal, Brazil, the launcher is about to shut down its first stage and ignite its cryogenic upper stage. Downrange distance is now about 1,200 km, altitude is 175 km and velocity is 5.33 km/s.

23:40
Plus+5 minutes, 40 seconds. Altitude is 166 km, downrange distance is 569 km and velocity is 3.42 km/s.

23:39  Fairing jettison
Plus+3 minutes, 30 seconds. Separation of the rocket's nose cone has been confirmed. The Ariane 5 core stage will continue burning until about Plus+9 minutes into the mission.

23:36  Booster separation
Plus+2 minutes, 30 seconds. The solid rocket boosters have been jettisoned from the Ariane 5 rocket's core stage after consuming approximately 480 metric tons of propellant. The liquid-fueled Vulcain 2 main engine continues to fire to propel the vehicle and its satellite payload to space.

23:35  Mach 1
Plus+60 seconds. The vehicle is on the proper heading as it rides the power of the twin solid rocket boosters and main stage liquid-fueled engine.

23:34  Liftoff
Liftoff of an Ariane 5 rocket on a dual-satellite delivery mission with Arabsat 6B and GSAT 15!
