На Луну в одиночку? В негерметичном лэндере? С ума сойти! :o

Хотя я бы полетел. :)

И притом четырёхпуском! Вполне можно уложиться в двупуск.

"Many people are concerned that space tourism is a Trojan horse for the eventual control of the moon, for a resources grab, using the billionaires to bankroll the startup," said Lynda Williams, a physics professor at Santa Rosa Junior College.
Golden Spike's leadership — which includes Colorado-based planetary scientist Alan Stern and NASA legend Gerry Griffin — spent their first 24 hours as a publicly known company fielding skepticism.
"The first line of criticisms is a lot of tongue-in-cheek about the 1-percenters," Stern said. "It's not about space tourism; that's not our model. That's the footnote market."
Stern said his company's target clientele will likely be other national space agencies, which he expects will use Golden Spike's services primarily for scientific purposes and national prestige.
"Think of these as camping trips; no one stays very long," Stern said. "There is no regulatory regime about (who can visit the moon); there is a regulatory regime that they can't claim the land for themselves."
The anti-land-grabbing statute is embedded within the international Outer Space Treaty of 1967, declaring that no country can claim outer space, including the moon, as its own. But the U.S., China and other nations refused to sign a subsequent

"No one owns the moon," Stern said. "You can go anywhere; you can land anywhere. The 'Earth' doesn't own (the moon) either."
The Outer Space Treaty states that each nation retains jurisdiction over its citizens should they perform activities in space. So the U.S. would not only govern Golden Spikes' operations, it would be liable in the event of a catastrophic accident.
"Should the common U.S. man and woman, the 99 percent, pay for the costs and risks of the 'space happy' dreams of billionaires?" said Williams, who sits on the board of directors of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space.
A report released this year by the U.S. Government Accountability Office pegs potential federal liability for third-party claims tied to commercial space exploration at $2.7 billion.
"We need to engage in a national dialogue on the risks and costs of commercial space travel before private space corporations and their rich clients can take and make them at U.S. taxpayers' expense," Williams said.
Stern emphasized that Golden Spike isn't a group of wealthy individuals trying to make a name for themselves.
"We don't have a billionaire involved, so we think we are more commercial than the first space startup and the space community doesn't recognize it," Stern said.
But he's not opposed to the prospect of taking private individuals to the moon.

Publicly announced last month, Golden Spike hopes to fly two-person missions to the moon for about $1.5 billion, using rockets and crew spacecraft that are already existing or in development.

The lander is the only major new piece of the system, and a competition to build it will follow the initial study work. Financial terms of the Northrop contract were not disclosed.

Golden Spike is shooting for a moon landing by the end of the decade and believes 15 to 25 more expeditions could be flown in the decade that follows. The company expects demand from nations, corporations or wealthy individuals interested in "scientific exploration and discovery, national prestige, commercial development, marketing, entertainment, and even personal achievement."

Golden Spike have specifically sel ected Northrop Grumman for the design of a new lunar lander that fits within Golden Spike's "head start" commercial lunar architecture.

However, Northrup Grumman appear to be willing to push forward with a study level review of options for Golden Spike at this early stage, in turn showing the effort – one that may see humans return to the moon by the end of the decade – is at least moving forward.
Per a release by Golden Spike on Thursday, Northrup Grumman – a major aerospace and defense contractor – will review requirements and synthesize a set of study ground rules and assumptions emphasizing system reliability, automated/ground command operability, and affordability.
They will also establishing velocity budgets from and to low lunar orbit for pragmatic lunar landing sites, while exploring a wide variety of Lunar Lander concept options – including staging, propellants, engines, reusability, autonomy, systems capabilities for exploration, as well as landing site flexibility.
"This study is one of a number of initial studies we're undertaking to begin creating the design requirements and specs for the lander contract competition we expect to hold to select a Golden Spike lander for flight development," said Golden Spike's Lunar Lander Systems Study (LLaSS) engineering chief, James R. French.
Northrop Grumman's legacy companies – Grumman and TRW – designed and built the Lunar Module and Lunar Module Descent Engines for the Apollo moon landing missions that between 1969 and 1972 ferried a crew of two astronauts fr om lunar orbit to the lunar surface and back again six times.
Their involvement with Golden Spike pushes forward their public plans within a month of their initial announcement.

LCROSS? Ну и плюс Китай, Япония, Индия...
