ЦитироватьArianespace to launch CO3D and MicroCarb satellites on July 25, 2025, with Vega C
17.06.2025
On July 25, 2025, Arianespace will place into orbit Airbus Defence and Space's CO3D satellites, as well as the CNES's MicroCarb satellite, with a Vega C rocket.
The CO3D mission is a constellation (Constellation Optique en 3D) composed of four small satellites which are set to map the globe in 3D from low Earth orbit, serving public and private sector needs.
The MicroCarb mission is designed to map sources and sinks of carbon dioxide (CO2) - the most important greenhouse gas - on a global scale.
As the launch service provider, Arianespace contributes to Europe's autonomous access to space, enabling Airbus and the CNES to carry out innovative missions, furthering our understanding of the Earth.
On Friday July 25th, 2025, at 11:03 p.m. local time (02:03 a.m. UTC, 04:03 a.m. CEST, on July 26th, 2025), Arianespace is to launch Airbus Defence and Space's CO3D satellites, as well as the CNES's MicroCarb satellite. This mission, called "VV27" will be performed using an Arianespace operated Vega C rocket, launched from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.
The main passengers, the four satellites composing the CO3D constellation, as well as the auxiliary passenger, MicroCarb, will be placed in Sun-synchronous orbits. The expected total duration of the mission (from lift-off to separation of all satellites) is 1 hour and 41 minutes.
Designed and built by Airbus, the CO3D (Constellation Optique 3D) satellites will deliver a global high-resolution Digital Surface Model (DSM) service to CNES providing 50 cm stereo imagery as well as 2D imagery for government and commercial customers. A partnership between Airbus and CNES, CO3D comprises four dual-use satellites, each based on all-electric platforms and weighing around 285kg. This data will feed a cloud-based ground segment operated by Airbus, including an image processing chain delivered by CNES. This data will answer both the military need for precise and up-to-date cartography as well as civil applications such as hydrology, geology, civil security, urban planning and land and resource management.
The CNES' MicroCarb mission is designed to map sources and sinks of carbon dioxide (CO₂), the most important greenhouse gas, on a global scale. The satellite's dispersive spectrometer instrument will measure atmospheric concentration of CO₂ globally with a high degree of precision. MicroCarb's platform is based out of the lastest CNES Myriade model. Its instrument was built by Airbus Defence and Space, and the integration was realized by Thales Alenia Space UK through a dedicated partnership implemented with the UK Space Agency.
The VV27 launch at a glance:
354th launch by Arianespace, 5th Vega C launch
10% of the satellites launched by Arianespace are Earth observation satellites
147th-150th spacecraft built by Airbus Defence and Space launched by Arianespace (CO3D, 4 satellites)
108th spacecraft built by Thales Alenia Space launched by Arianespace (MicroCarb platform)

26.07.2025

On July 25, 2025, Arianespace successfully placed into orbit Airbus Defence and Space's CO3D satellites, as well as the CNES's MicroCarb satellite, with a Vega C rocket.
The CO3D mission is a constellation (Constellation Optique en 3D) composed of four small satellites which are set to map the globe in 3D from low Earth orbit, serving public and private sector needs.

On Friday July 25th, 2025, at 11:03 p.m. local time (02:03 a.m. UTC, 04:03 a.m. CEST, on July 26th, 2025), Arianespace successfully launched Airbus Defence and Space's CO3D satellites, as well as the CNES's MicroCarb satellite. This mission, called "VV27" was performed using an Arianespace operated Vega C rocket, launched from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.

The main passengers, the four satellites composing the CO3D constellation, were placed into Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 495 km and were separated two by two 54 minutes after lift-off. The auxiliary passenger, MicroCarb, was placed in a Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 650 km and separated 1 hour and 41 minutes after lift-off.

David Cavaillolès, Arianespace CEO, declared; « VV27 is a great example of what our teams do best: delivering complex missions with precision. Vega C successfully placed five satellites into two different orbits, the four satellites composing the CO3D constellation and MicroCarb. This mission shows once again how Arianespace contributes to Europe's autonomous access to space and supports Airbus and the CNES in launching innovative missions furthering our understanding of the Earth ».

https://newsroom.arianespace.com/arianespace-to-launch-eumetsats-metop-sga1-satellite-on-august-12-2025-with-ariane-6
ЦитироватьOn August 12, 2025 at 9:37 p.m. local time (00:37 a.m. UTC, 2:37 a.m. CEST, on August 13), Arianespace will launch EUMETSAT's Metop-SGA1 satellite with Ariane 6 from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

The mission, designated VA264, will be the second commercial flight for Ariane 6, the new European heavy-lift launcher. It will place its passenger, the Metop-SGA1 satellite, into Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO) at an altitude of around 800 km. Spacecraft separation will occur 1 hour and 4 minutes after lift-off.

The Metop-SGA1 (Second Generation A1) satellite will be the first of the next generation of European polar-orbiting weather satellites. Metop-SGA1 will host a total of six atmospheric sounding and imaging instrument missions that will provide optical, infrared, and microwave observations essential data for weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and a wide range of other services and applications. Amongst its hosts, Metop-SGA1 will carry the new Sentinel-5 atmospheric monitoring mission, part of the European Commission's Copernicus programme.

The satellite will take global observation of weather and climate from a polar orbit to a new level, providing high resolution observations of temperature, precipitation, clouds, winds, sea ice, aerosols, pollution, soil moisture, volcanic dust, and a multitude of other parameters.

The spacecraft was built by Airbus Defence and Space, under a contract with the European Space Agency, and will be operated throughout its lifetime by EUMETSAT, that will also distribute its data to users.

To allow for the completion of additional preparation and finalization activities on the Vega C launcher, the VV28 launch has been rescheduled.
The earliest targeted launch date is now November 30th, 2025, at 2:21 p.m. local time (5:21 p.m. UTC, 6:21 p.m. CET)...
Vega C and its passenger, the KOMPSAT-7 satellite, are in stable and safe conditions.
This schedule adjustment has no impact on the VA266 launch for Galileo L14.
