Here are some more photographs taken by NASA (Bill Ingalls):

And a good photo taken outside in sun light:

The rocket seems somewhat green.  But the RGB value on its side is (145, 145, 126), measured with Photoshop.  Which is actually gray-yellow!  Perhaps there is an optical illusion here.

Don, there nonprofesional photos and not calibrated colors on this pictures.
You can use the photoshop's white balance funtionality to correct colors. As a referene you can use white paint of the 3-rd stage of Soyuz.

These green floor and luminiscent lamps in the assembly room makes light more green.

On this picture light mostly from the window (more blue color)

The Soyuz is very popular among model builders in the USA.  Of course, because the R-7 is the most important of all space rockets!

The color is a little complex.  No gray paint has a flat reflection spectrum.  Looking at the Soyuz in blue skylight, full sunlight, and evening sunset, I think there is a little yellow tint in the paint.  But to the eye, it is usually described as just "gray".

What company makes this paint in Russia?  Can we buy the actual paint?  And of course there is also the orange color used on the base of the rocket.
