 The launch of MICHIBIKI No. 5, Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZS-5) aboard the 8th H3 Launch Vehicle (H3 F8) which was scheduled on December 7, 2025(JST), has been postponed due to the occurrence of a need to check onboard equipment (IMU*1) on the 2nd stage.
 The new launch date will be announced once confirmed.

The launch of the QZS-5 navigation satellite (nicknamed Michibiki-5) aboard H3-F8 has been delayed due to additional checks that are needed on an Inertial Measurement Unit on the Second Stage. A new launchdate has not yet been announced.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) had previously postponed the launch of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System "Michibiki No. 5" aboard the H3 Launch Vehicle No. 8 due to the occurrence of a need to check onboard equipment (IMU*1) on the 2nd stage. However, following an investigation, the cause has been identified and corrective measures have been completed.
Based on the above, the new launch date for the H3 Launch Vehicle No. 8 has been rescheduled as follows:

Launch date   : December 17, 2025
Launch Window   : 11:00 (JST) through 12:00 (JST) *2

Reserved Launch Period   : December 18, 2025 through January 31, 2026
Launch site   : Yoshinobu Launch Complex at the JAXA Tanegashima Space Center
