T-minus 60 minutes. Here are some statistics on today's launch:
  • 110th launch of a Falcon 9 rocket since 2010
  • 118th launch of Falcon rocket family since 2006
  • 6th launch of Falcon 9 booster B1058
  • 97th Falcon 9 launch from Florida's Space Coast
  • 66th Falcon 9 launch from pad 40
  • 121st launch overall from pad 40
  • 21st launch dedicated to SpaceX's Starlink network
  • 7th Falcon 9 launch of 2021
  • 7th launch by SpaceX in 2021
  • 7th orbital launch based out of Cape Canaveral in 2021

T-minus 50 minutes. Heading northeast from Cape Canaveral, the rocket's first stage booster will separate about two-and-a-half minutes into the mission, targeting a landing on SpaceX's drone ship "Just Read the Instructions" around 400 miles (630 kilometers) northeast of the launch site.
The booster is scheduled to land on the floating platform at T+plus 8 minute, 24 seconds, moments before shutdown of the Falcon 9's upper stage engine to complete its first burn on today's mission.
The second stage will reignite its Merlin engine for a brief burn lasting about one second at T+plus 45 minutes, 31 seconds. The upper stage will deploy the 60 flat-panel Starlink satellites at T+plus 1 hour, 4 minutes, 28 seconds, according to a mission timeline released by SpaceX.
The rocket will aim to place the satellites into a near-circular orbit ranging between 161 miles and 174 miles (260 and 281 kilometers in altitude, with an inclination of 53 degrees to the equator.
The quarter-ton satellites, built by SpaceX in Redmond, Washington, are expected to unfurl power-generating solar arrays and prime their krypton ion thrusters to begin raising their orbits to an operational altitude of 341 miles (550 kilometers), where they will join more than 1,100 other Starlink relay stations to beam broadband internet signals across most of the populated world.
With tonight's launch, SpaceX will have deployed 1,265 Starlink satellites into orbit since May 2019, but dozens of those have been de-orbited are are no longer maneuvering, suggesting they have been decommissioned or failed after their launch.

SpaceX has dispatched two ships northeast from Cape Canaveral to retrieve the two pieces of the Falcon 9's payload fairing after today's launch. The fairing halves descend under parachutes.

T-minus 35 minutes. Filling of the Falcon 9 rocket with super-chilled, densified kerosene and liquid oxygen is underway at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This will mark SpaceX's seventh launch of the year, and the 110th flight of a Falcon 9 rocket since June 2010.
The liquid oxygen flowing into the first stage is chilled to near minus 340 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 206 degrees Celsius).
Propellant loading begins with pumping RP-1 kerosene into both stages of the Falcon 9 rocket, and liquid oxygen into the first stage. Liquid oxygen begins loading into the second stage at T-minus 16 minutes.

Chilldown of the strongback at pad 40 is underway to prepare for liquid oxygen loading into the Falcon 9's second stage.
03/11/2021 10:55
SpaceX confirms the second stage's RP-1 kerosene fuel tank is fully loaded. The kerosene will be consumed by the second stage's Merlin-Vacuum engine in combination with super-cold liquid oxygen, which will begin flowing into the upper stage shortly.

Hydraulics in the first and second stage Merlin engines are being activated for the Falcon 9's steering system.
03/11/2021 11:08
T-minus 7 minutes. Prevalves leading to the Falcon 9's Merlin 1D first stage engines are opening, permitting super-cold liquid oxygen to flow into the engines to condition the turbopumps for ignition.
03/11/2021 11:08
T-minus 5 minutes. The Falcon 9's propellant tanks are being pressurized in preparation for retraction of the strongback structure at pad 40.
03/11/2021 11:09
T-minus 4 minutes, 15 seconds. The process to lower the strongback structure at pad 40 has begun with the opening up the cradles around the rocket. The strongback will move to an angle of around 1.5 degrees from the Falcon 9 in preparation for ignition, then further retract at liftoff.

T-minus 3 minutes and counting. The rocket's destruct system will be armed shortly, and liquid oxygen topping is being terminated soon.
