Итальянский изготовитель легких ракет семейства Vega объявил о том, что первый пуск ракеты Vega-C состоится не ранее середины 2021 года. В качестве причин переноса сроков летного испытания в компании обозначили то, что для нее сейчас приоритетнее осуществить текущие законтрактованные пуски ракеты Vega и не заставлять заказчиков испытывать вызванные задержками неудобства.
Причины переноса текущих пусков были обозначены в Avio как необходимость учета в конструкции ракеты результатов исследования причин аномального запуска КА ДЗЗ Falcon Eye, а также последствия пандемии COVID-19. При этом, если изначально компания ориентировалась на осуществление в этом году трех пусков ракеты Vega и одного пуска ракеты Vega-C, то теперь в Avio ожидают, что до конца года они успеют осуществить только один пуск РН Vega. На 2021 год в текущих планах компании значатся: три пуска ракеты Vega и один пуск ракеты Vega-C, сообщает Ecoruspace.

ИНТЕРФАКС - Европейское космическое агентство (ESA) во вторник подписало соглашение на сумму 129,4 млн евро с промышленным консорциумом во главе с немецкой спутниковой компанией OHB на создание космического аппарата HERA, предназначенного для защиты Земли от угрожающих ей астероидов, сообщил специализированный сайт Space News.
       В рамках сделки OHB возглавит разработки группы компаний из 17 стран-членов ESA для подготовки намеченного на октябрь 2024 года запуска аппарата HERA.
       Он является частью проекта миссии зонда DART американского космического агентства NASA, который планируется запустить в октябре 2021 года к двойному астероиду Didymos и Dimorphos.

       Американский зонд должен будет врезаться в наименьший из двух астероидов - Dimorphos, с тем чтобы попытаться сдвинуть его с траектории столкновения с Землей на более безопасный путь. Столкновение планируется осуществить в сентябре 2022 года.
       Космический аппарат HERA подлетит к астероиду в 2026 году. Ему в течение шести месяцев, в том числе с помощью его спутников CubeSate, предстоит оценить результат удара по астероиду и смещение его c орбиты.
       Астероид Dimorphos с диаметром около 160 метров в случае столкновения с Землей способен разрушить целый город.

Intelsat - крупнейший в мире оператор спутниковой и наземной связи, заказывает запуск новых спутников, которые являются частью плана по переходу компании к оказанию услуг связи в C-диапазоне.
По условиям контрактов, начиная с 2022 года, Intelsat запустит четыре своих спутника на двух ракетах Falcon 9 и ещё два спутника на ракете Ariane 5. Она хочет помочь американским операторам мобильной связи расширить охват сетей 4 и 5G в сельской местности. Для этого FCC платит компаниям за замену спутников, и по этой программе Intelsat может получить почти $5 млрд.

Arianespace today announced that new shared payload opportunities to low Earth orbit (LEO) have been opened with its Vega launcher's Small Spacecraft Mission Service (SSMS).

For the next launch opportunity – Vega Flight VV18, targeted for the first quarter of 2021 – five companies already have signed contracts for payload slots, thereby fully booking the capacity on this mission.

The initial SSMS launch with Vega – Flight VV16 – was performed last month, fully proving the viability of Arianespace's latest capability for orbiting small satellites. This inaugural SSMS launch was supported by the European Space Agency and the European Union, deploying 50-plus satellites for 21 commercial and institutional customers.

With the SSMS' successful introduction, Arianespace is now able to offer a regular launch service for small satellites (mass under 400 kg). Customers will benefit from the highly modular payload carrying systems available on the current Vega and the enhanced Vega C version, along with the reignition capability of the launchers' AVUM upper stage, as well as the new small spacecraft preparation and integration facilities in Europe that complement existing installations at the Guiana Space Center in French Guiana.

Vega C maiden flight is schedule for mid-2021.

Longer-term opportunities include an SSMS mission to dawn-dusk low Earth orbit, and one to low Earth equatorial orbit.

For Vega's next SSMS launch, Flight VV18 will be a piggyback mission with a dispenser configuration based on one hexagonal module below the main payload interface. Its fully-booked capacity underscores how attractive this opportunity was to users and customers, including Spire and Nanoavionics through SAB Launch Services; Eutelsat and Myriota, through Tyvak; and the Norwegian Space Center with its Norsat-3 satellite, through SpaceFlight Laboratories.

With the goal of further benefiting the small satellite community, Arianespace today released the new SSMS User's Manual for Vega C. On Vega C, the SSMS will offer even greater performance capabilities and is to broaden the array of solutions that Arianespace provides to small satellite operators. The SSMS User's Manual is available for downloading from the Arianespace website.

Small, versatile, and efficient, the light-lift Vega is part of Arianespace's launcher family, operating from the Guiana Space Center alongside the heavyweight Ariane 5 and the medium-lift Soyuz. Vega is a European Space Agency program; Italy's Avio, based in Colleferro, is Vega's industrial prime contractor, as well as the design lead for the SSMS.

Arianespace announced today that it has signed a contract for an Ariane 5 launch of a communications satellite into geostationary orbit, for an undisclosed operator. The launch is planned for 2022. This contract follows a contract signed with Intelsat in September to launch three satellites, along with 16 Soyuz launches for OneWeb. Ariane 5 still has eight more launches to carry out before it is retired and passes the baton to Ariane 6, scheduled to make its first flight in 2022.

Arianespace is gearing up for a very busy year-end, with up to four launches planned in less than six weeks. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and a business slowdown, Arianespace could still surpass its operational performance in 2019, by logging a total of ten launches in 2020, including three by Ariane 5, five by Soyuz and two by Vega.

Запуск спутников OneWeb станет первым полностью коммерческим пуском с космодрома Восточный. В четверг самолет Ан-124-100 "Руслан" с 36 спутниками связи OneWeb прибыл из США в Благовещенск. Как уточнили в Роскосмосе, специалисты космического центра "Восточный" (филиал Центра эксплуатации объектов наземной космической инфраструктуры) уже "транспортировали их на космодром Восточный, где будет осуществляться их подготовка к намеченному на декабрь 2020 года запуску на ракете-носителе "Союз-2.1б" с разгонным блоком "Фрегат".

Обновленная договоренность OneWeb с Arianespace предполагает запуск 16 российских ракет "Союз" с космодромов Куру, Восточный и Байконур в 2020-2022 годах. Каждый запуск позволит вывести на орбиту по 34-36 спутников OneWeb. Их производство активизировало совместное предприятие OneWeb и концерна Airbus.
