ЦитироватьExolaunch and Glavkosmos announce Soyuz launch campaign for 15 small satellites
Exolaunch's small satellite cluster of 15 microsatellites and cubesats ,"Wanderlust, Desire To Travel", will launch on Soyuz as soon as September 2020.

Berlin, August 17th, 2020 – Exolaunch, a Berlin-based rideshare launch and deployment solutions provider, and Glavkosmos, a single operator of foreign commercial activities of the State Space Corporation Roscosmos, have initiated a launch campaign for 15 international small satellites onboard a Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with a Fregat upper stage. As soon as September 2020, Soyuz-2 will deliver a cluster of small satellites into orbit as rideshare payloads on a Roscosmos mission.

Exolaunch's small satellite cluster, named "Wanderlust, Desire To Travel", includes three microsatellites below 100 kg and twelve cubesats for customers from Europe, Canada, the USA and the UAE. The satellites will deliver remote sensing, AIS, ADS-b and IoT data for leading New Space startups and the international scientific community. After primary payload separation, a cluster of small spacecraft will be deployed into a sun-synchronous orbit of 575 km, where it will undergo subsequent formation by the Fregat upper stage.

All satellites will be integrated with Fregat and deployed into their target orbit using next-generation deployment systems developed by Exolaunch – the CarboNIX shock-free microsatellite separation systems and EXOpod cubesat launch deployers – both of which have a successful flight heritage on previous Soyuz-2 and Fregat missions.

Dmitriy Bogdanov, CEO at Exolaunch, commented on the upcoming launch: "We're thrilled to start yet another launch campaign with Soyuz-2. Exolaunch truly values this fruitful cooperation with Glavkosmos, who continues to be our reliable partner in the Russian market when it comes to smallsat launches on Roscosmos missions. This will be our seventh mission with Soyuz-2/Fregat, and for good reason: this is one of the most reliable launch systems on the market."

Exolaunch has named this mission "Wanderlust, Desire To Travel", which symbolizes both the ever-increasing importance of sustainable access to space for small satellites and the longing for travelling, which has recently been restricted.

The Exolaunch team – alongside multinational small satellite developers and Glavkosmos – are currently preparing for the autonomous spacecraft checks at the launch site ahead of the small satellite integration with Fregat.

The cooperation between Exolaunch and Glavkosmos for this upcoming cluster launch comes after many prior successful collaborations, which included the joint launch of nearly 30 small satellites with Soyuz-2 in July 2019 from Vostochny and numerous other jointly implemented rideshare launches.

ЦитироватьExolaunch to Deliver Kepler's Next-Generation Satellites into Orbit
Kepler signs a launch agreement with Exolaunch to deliver the first two of its next-generation satellites into orbit on Soyuz in September 2020.

Toronto, August 18th, 2020 – Kepler, a developer of next-generation satellite communications technologies, and Exolaunch, a rideshare launch and deployment solutions provider, signed a launch agreement for two of Kepler's 6U XL satellites. Under the contract, Exolaunch will provide launch, mission management, integration and deployment services to Kepler's satellites on a Soyuz rideshare mission, targeted for launch in September, 2020. With Exolaunch providing a quick turnaround for launch and deployment, Kepler now continues its rapid constellation development ahead of its 2020 launch plans.

Kepler's two new satellites are important installments of the company's development and demonstration platforms, and both carry a high-capacity Ku-band communications system and a prototype IoT payload. The satellites will deliver additional capacity for Kepler's Global Data Service and a technology demonstration platform for Kepler's narrowband connectivity solution for Internet of Things devices.

The satellites will be deployed into orbit with the EXOpod, Exolaunch's advanced cubesat deployer, that has delivered 80 cubesats into orbit to date. Exolaunch produced a custom-tailored 16U EXOpod to accommodate Kepler's 6U XL satellites. Because of the EXOpod's ease of operation and flexible design, Kepler's engineers were able to successfully integrate both satellites at the company's facilities in Toronto with virtual support from the Exolaunch team. Kepler and Exolaunch worked effectively together on this integration in a remote setting due to the current travel restrictions. The satellites will be delivered to the launch site in Russia, where Exolaunch will conduct a launch campaign and integrate the satellites on a Soyuz launch vehicle.

Jared Bottoms, Director of Space Systems at Kepler, said of the launch partnership: "Exolaunch continues to show growth and innovation in launch solutions and is accommodating to the rapid shifts and changes that often accompany our work as a new space company. They demonstrate several qualities that are important when we consider launching our assets, and the combination of both deployment and launcher integration brought in by Exolaunch is something we can trust. We look forward to a successful partnership with Exolaunch, and a successful deployment of Kepler's satellites."

Jeanne Medvedeva, Commercial Director at Exolaunch, commented further on the upcoming launch plans: "Exolaunch looks forward to working with Kepler to support its mission to eliminate global gaps in connectivity. With the launch of two more satellites, Kepler's Global Data Service capabilities will expand significantly and improve the economics of movement of data. Our team is ready to utilize our launch expertise and deployment solutions to ensure smooth deployment of Kepler's satellites into orbit. In light of recent global challenges, we are especially proud of this opportunity to continue our mission to provide our customers with regular access to space."

Kepler's satellites are a part of a September Soyuz rideshare mission that is manifested by Exolaunch to realize the launch plans of its international small satellite customers. The mission is named Wanderlust, Desire To Travel, which symbolizes both: the ever-increasing importance of sustainable access to space for small satellites and longing for travelling which was recently restricted. Exolaunch has excellent heritage flying international customers on Soyuz; in summer 2019, it launched its largest smallsat cluster to date: 29 satellites from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. On this mission, Exolaunch will deploy a cluster of 15 smallsats into a sun-synchronous orbit for its customers from Europe, the UAE, Canada and the USA. The company is set to provide its market-leading separation systems – EXOpod for cubesats and CarboNIX for microsats – as well as its EXObox sequencers, to ensure timely deployment of small satellites into their target orbit.

ЦитироватьExolaunch to Deliver SALSAT into Orbit for Berlin university

Berlin, 8 September 2020. – The Technische Universität Berlin, a leading German university specializing in space engineering, and Exolaunch, a rideshare launch and deployment solutions provider, have reached a launch agreement for the SALSAT nanosatellite.

Under the agreement, Exolaunch is providing launch, mission management, and integration services for the Technische Universität Berlin on a Soyuz-2 rideshare mission later this month.

SALSAT (Spectrum AnaLysis SATellite) aims to analyze the global spectrum use of S-band and VHF, UHF amateur radio bands. This analysis is required due to the increasing number of users and the intensification of radio communication, which is leading to an escalating probability of interference between radio signals. It will analyze the global spectrum usage with SALSA, a spectrum analyzer payload based on a Software Defined Radio.

SALSAT also features a variety of unique secondary payloads such as a Linux based, intelligent onboard processing system to analyze the spectrum on-board. The nanosatellite also features novel, three-axis Fluid-Dynamic Actuator (FDA).

SALSAT will be the first satellite in space to demonstrate three-axis attitude control with its FDAs. The mission's collected spectrum data will be made available to the public through a web portal which international researchers, study groups, and amateur radio enthusiasts can access. The mission is funded by the German Bundestag through the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR).

SALSAT is a part of the September Soyuz rideshare mission – Exolaunch's seventh mission with Soyuz-2 that is manifested by the company. On this mission, Exolaunch will deploy a cluster of 15 smallsats into a sun-synchronous orbit for its customers from Europe, the UAE, Canada, and the USA.
