It's a foggy morning at Vandenberg Air Force Base, and photographers gathered at a viewing site a few miles from the launch and landing pads report they cannot currently see the rocket.

Low visibility is not a weather constraint for a launch at Vandenberg, so the countdown is counting to tick toward liftoff at 7:17 a.m. PDT (10:17 a.m. EDT; 1417 GMT).

"Launch auto sequence has started." The countdown is starting the first steps to begin pumping propellants into the 229-foot-tall Falcon 9 at Vandenberg's Space Launch Complex 4-East.

RP-1 kerosene and liquid oxygen will be pumped into the Falcon 9 rocket. The liquid oxygen is chilled to near minus 340 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 206 degrees Celsius).

The Air Force's camera setup for this launch is intense. A couple of these can see right through @Marine_layer. #SpaceX #radarsat

The Falcon 9's second stage is now filled with RP-1 kerosene fuel. As propellants continue flowing into the first stage, liquid oxygen will begin loading into the second stage in a few minutes.

SpaceX's live webcast of today's launch is underway. It's a foggy morning at Vandenberg Air Force Base with all camera views of the Falcon 9 rocket currently obstructed by low visiblity. But weather conditions are "go" for liftoff with the Radarsat Constellation Mission at 7:17 a.m. PDT (10:17 a.m. EDT; 1417 GMT).

SpaceX will not attempt a recovery of the Falcon 9's payload fairing today because the company's recovery vessels are currently stationed in Florida.

The strongback umbilical tower is being lowered to angle of 13 degrees from the Falcon 9 to clear the rocket for launch. The procedure begins with opening of cradles gripping the rocket at attach points, then hydraulics lower the tower into position for liftoff.

T-minus 3 minutes and counting. Retraction of the strongback is confirmed complete. First stage liquid oxygen loading is concluding at this time.
