Hi all,
I apologize for not being able of writing in Russian. For the first volume of my book "robotic exploration of the solar system" to be published next year by Springer-Praxis I am looking for images of the following soviet probes
- Venera 1
- Venera 4 (capsule only)
- Venera 9 (orbiter and lander)
- Mars 3 (lander only)
What I need are high resolution, publication quality pictures. They need to be some megapixels if taken with a digital camera or have a resolution of at least 300 dpi if scanned. I am looking mostly for present day unpublished or rarely seen pictures of mockups exposed in museums in Russia.
I will acknowledge your help in the book, but I will receive only five free copies and therefore I fear that it may not be possible to send gift copies to thank you.
Thanks in advance
Paolo

There are some amateur photos of Venera-1 mockup taken in Moscow Politech Museum with 3.2 mpix camera.
But it is probably not what you dreamed of.

Full size ones:

Very nice picture.  I have only seen the VSM photos of that model before.  Thanks.

Thank you, Don. There are some more pictures from the same place. May be you will find them somehow usable for your GIRD article:

Paolo, here are some locations of planetary probes in Russian museums, omitting small models that are not very realistic:

Tsiolkovsky Museum in Kaluga:  Venera-1, Mars-3, Zond-3, Venera-9 lander

Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics: Venera-4 lander, Mars-3 lander

Energiya: Venera-3

Moscow Aviation Institute: Venera-7, Venera-5 lander, Mars-3 fuel tank

NPO Lavochkin:  Mars-3 lander, Venera-8 lander, Vega Lander, Vega, Venera-15 radar unit, Fobos, Venera-4

Orevo: Mars-1, Zond-3 instrument compartment, Portion of 2MV Venus probe

Moscow Polytechnic Museum: Venera-1

Dio, thank-you again for those photos of the ORM-65.

A friend in Moscow had checked, and the Polytechnic Musuem does not permit photography now.  So you were lucky to get those.

On the Venera-1 model, did the navigation sensors look real, or just a maket?   They look much better than the model of Venera-1 at Kaluga.

I even checked with Geofizika-Kosmos, who made the Venera-1 star/sun sensors.  They almost allowed a friend to take some pictures, and then some kind of legal trouble has begun.  So they are closed.

Some of the students want to know about the solar system where I have checked best books are available to provide them details about the solar system which can also checked  on the https://edubirdie.org/ (https://edubirdie.org/) site as well and best options are available about the solar details are available in easy way.
