An updated weather forecast issued this morning by the U.S. Space Force's 45th Weather Squadron predicts a 90% chance of favorable conditions for liftoff of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket at 9:58 p.m. EST (0258 GMT) tonight.

The Falcon 9 is poised for launch from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station with 60 more Starlink internet satellites.

"Another partly cloudy day with gusty onshore winds tapering off after sunset is expected along the Space Coast," forecasters wrote this morning. "The primary weather concerns for a launch attempt this evening are liftoff winds and the cumulus cloud rule associated with the onshore flow."

At launch time, forecasters expect mostly clear skies, winds from the east-northeast at 15 to 20 mph, and a temperature of about 62 degrees Fahrenheit. There are low risks of violating upper level wind limits or booster recovery constraints in the Atlantic Ocean.

The pleasant weather on Florida's Space Coast is forecast to continue over the next few days, and the weather team at Cape Canaveral predicts a 90% chance of good conditions for launch of a Falcon 9 rocket at 3:13 a.m. EST (0813 GMT) Thursday.
"High pressure continues to dominate the area with persistent onshore flow," the U.S. Space Force's 45th Weather Squadron wrote in a forecast this morning. "Winds will be a little gustier during the maximum heating hours from mid-morning until sunset, while brief coastal showers are most likely from the early morning hours through noon. The primary weather concerns for a launch attempt early Thursday morning are liftoff winds and the cumulus cloud rule."
A Falcon 9 rocket is awaiting liftoff from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station with 60 more Starlink internet satellites.
The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, winds from the east at 12 to 17 mph, and a temperature of about 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
The mission was previously set for launch Tuesday night, but SpaceX scrubbed the launch to take "some additional time for pre-launch checks," the company tweeted.
The mission will mark SpaceX's seventh Falcon 9 launch of the year, and the fifth Falcon 9 flight dedicated to the Starlink network.

Good morning from the Kennedy Space Center. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is standing a few miles away on pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station awaiting liftoff at 3:13 a.m. EST (0813 GMT) with 60 more Starlink internet satellites.
Skies over Florida's Space Coast are mostly clear, and there's a 90% chance of favorable conditions for this morning's instantaneous launch opportunity.
This will be the 23rd Falcon 9 rocket launch to carry Starlink satellites into orbit, and the 21st dedicated flight for the Starlink network. Two others carried Starlink satellites as rideshare payloads.
With this morning's launch, SpaceX will have deployed 1,265 Starlink satellites to date. SpaceX is expected to complete deployment of more than 1,500 Starlink satellites into its first-generation network in the coming months, followed by launch of thousands more at different orbital altitudes and inclinations to beam internet signals around the world.
The 229-foot-tall (70-meter) Falcon 9 rocket will be powered by a first stage booster that hass launched and landed on five previous missions, beginning with the launch last May of the Crew Dragon test flight with astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken. The payload fairing, which will protect the Starlink satellites during the first few minutes of launch, includes one half recovered from two prior missions, and another half with one launch on its record.
The first stage -- numbered B1058 in SpaceX's reusable rocket fleet -- will shut down and drop away from the Falcon 9's upper stage about two-and-a-half minutes into the mission, and head for a vertical landing on SpaceX's drone ship "Just Read the Instructions" parked in the Atlantic Ocean east of Charleston, South Carolina.
Two additional SpaceX vessels were dispatched into the Atlantic Ocean to retrieve the payload fairing halves after this morning's launch.

The next major step in the countdown is the start of fueling of the Falcon 9 with super-chilled, densified RP-1 kerosene and liquid oxygen propellants.
SpaceX's launch conductor will verify all members of the launch team are ready to proceed with the final 35-minute automated countdown sequence at 2:35 a.m. EST (0735 GMT), followed by the start of filling the rocket with super-chilled, densified RP-1 kerosene and liquid oxygen propellants at 2:38 a.m. EST (0738 GMT).
Liquid oxygen loading into the second stage will begin at T-minus 16 minutes, at 2:57 a.m. EST (0757 GMT), followed by final chilldown of the rocket's nine Merlin first stage engines, a final pre-flight engine steering check, switching of the rocket to internal power, and pressurization of the Falcon 9's propellant tanks leading up to liftoff.

T-minus 60 minutes. Here are some statistics on today's launch:

03/11/2021 10:24
T-minus 50 minutes. Heading northeast from Cape Canaveral, the rocket's first stage booster will separate about two-and-a-half minutes into the mission, targeting a landing on SpaceX's drone ship "Just Read the Instructions" around 400 miles (630 kilometers) northeast of the launch site.
The booster is scheduled to land on the floating platform at T+plus 8 minute, 24 seconds, moments before shutdown of the Falcon 9's upper stage engine to complete its first burn on today's mission.
The second stage will reignite its Merlin engine for a brief burn lasting about one second at T+plus 45 minutes, 31 seconds. The upper stage will deploy the 60 flat-panel Starlink satellites at T+plus 1 hour, 4 minutes, 28 seconds, according to a mission timeline released by SpaceX.
The rocket will aim to place the satellites into a near-circular orbit ranging between 161 miles and 174 miles (260 and 281 kilometers in altitude, with an inclination of 53 degrees to the equator.
The quarter-ton satellites, built by SpaceX in Redmond, Washington, are expected to unfurl power-generating solar arrays and prime their krypton ion thrusters to begin raising their orbits to an operational altitude of 341 miles (550 kilometers), where they will join more than 1,100 other Starlink relay stations to beam broadband internet signals across most of the populated world.
With tonight's launch, SpaceX will have deployed 1,265 Starlink satellites into orbit since May 2019, but dozens of those have been de-orbited are are no longer maneuvering, suggesting they have been decommissioned or failed after their launch.

03/11/2021 10:24
SpaceX has dispatched two ships northeast from Cape Canaveral to retrieve the two pieces of the Falcon 9's payload fairing after today's launch. The fairing halves descend under parachutes.

T-minus 35 minutes. Filling of the Falcon 9 rocket with super-chilled, densified kerosene and liquid oxygen is underway at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This will mark SpaceX's seventh launch of the year, and the 110th flight of a Falcon 9 rocket since June 2010.
The liquid oxygen flowing into the first stage is chilled to near minus 340 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 206 degrees Celsius).
Propellant loading begins with pumping RP-1 kerosene into both stages of the Falcon 9 rocket, and liquid oxygen into the first stage. Liquid oxygen begins loading into the second stage at T-minus 16 minutes.
