A European-built communications satellite, manufactured in secret for the Egyptian government, joined a European Space Agency exoplanet observatory aboard a Ukrainian Antonov An-124 cargo plane for a trans-Atlantic flight Wednesday to begin final launch preparations in French Guiana.

The TIBA 1 communications satellite and ESA's Characterizing Exoplanet Satellite, or CHEOPS, were loaded into the Antonov cargo plane at Toulouse-Blagnac airport in France, near an Airbus spacecraft factory.

The heavy-duty aircraft transported the satellites — both inside climate-controlled shipping containers — on a trans-Atlantic journey to the airport in Cayenne, French Guiana, where they landed Wednesday afternoon. The two spacecraft were expected to travel by truck to the nearby Guiana Space Center in Kourou, where technicians will remove the satellites from their containers and prepare them for launch.

The TIBA 1 spacecraft will launch in tandem with an Inmarsat mobile communications satellite on an Ariane 5 rocket set for liftoff Nov. 22. CHEOPS will launch as a secondary payload on the Dec. 17 launch of a Russian Soyuz booster with Italy's first COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation, or CSG 1, radar surveillance satellite.

Egypt ordered the TIBA 1 communications satellite in 2016 as part of a purchase of French military equipment reportedly worth more than $1 billion. French officials released no updates on the Egyptian satellite since 2016, and its name and assignment to the November Ariane 5 launch remained secret until Wednesday.

Airbus Defense and Space and Thales Alenia Space, rivals in the satellite manufacturing industry, collaborated on the TIBA 1 project. In a statement, Airbus said it supplied the Eurostar E3000 satellite platform, assembled the spacecraft, and tested the satellite.

Airbus described Thales Alenia Space as the "leading partner" on the mission. Thales Alenia Space designed and built the spacecraft's payload, Airbus said, featuring a dual-mission Ka-band package for secure and broadband communications.

TIBA 1 is designed for mission in geostationary orbit lasting more than 15 years, and will weigh around 5.6 metric tons — or 12,345 pounds — fully fueled for launch, Airbus said.

The Ariane 5 launch set for Nov. 22 will be the 250th flight of the Ariane rocket family since 1979.

Payloads for Arianespace's next two launches are welcomed in French Guiana

The shipping container with the TIBA-1 payload is unloaded fr om a chartered An-124 cargo jetliner at French Guiana's Félix Eboué Airport. This spacecraft will be orbited by an Ariane 5 on Arianespace Flight VA250.

The Spaceport is stepping up activity for Arianespace's upcoming Ariane 5 and Soyuz missions following the delivery of three satellite passengers to French Guiana – which arrived at Cayenne's Félix Eboué Airport earlier this week aboard the same chartered cargo jetliner.

The three spacecraft – TIBA-1, CHEOPS and ANGELS – subsequently were unloaded from the An-124 aircraft for transfer by road to the Spaceport launch base, wh ere each will be prepared for liftoff before the end of 2019.

Launching Ariane 5 for Egypt

TIBA-1 was jointly developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus for operation by the Government of Egypt. Based on the Eurostar E3000 satellite platform, it will be one of two passengers on Arianespace's fourth Ariane 5 mission of the year – which is designated Flight VA250 in the company's numbering system.

Designed for a service life greater than 15 years, TIBA-1 will have an estimated launch mass of 5,600 kg. and an electric power capability that is higher than 9 kW. Its liftoff aboard Arianespace's workhorse Ariane 5 will be performed from the Spaceport's ELA-3 launch zone in November.

Egypt's TIBA-1 satellite is "fit" for its Arianespace Ariane 5 launch

Processing is now underway with the TIBA-1 satellite passenger for Arianespace's next dual-payload Ariane 5 mission, which is scheduled for a November liftoff from the Spaceport in French Guiana.

TIBA-1 undergoes its fit-check with the interface adapter used for integration on Arianespace's Ariane 5 launcher.

Preparations so far have included TIBA-1's fit-check – an initial milestone validating the satellite's compatibility with the adapter that will serve as the payload interface with Ariane 5 – which was performed in the Spaceport's S5 payload preparation facility's S5C large clean room hall.

TIBA-1 will occupy the upper passenger position in Ariane 5's dual-payload configuration on the upcoming mission, which is designated Flight VA250 in Arianespace's numbering system. Its co-passenger – Inmarsat's fifth Global Xpress satellite, GX5 – is scheduled to arrive at the Spaceport this week.

Enhancing Egyptian communications

Based on the Eurostar E3000 satellite platform, TIBA-1 was developed by Airbus for operation by the government of Egypt and Thales Alenia Space. This communications spacecraft will weigh approximately 5,640 kg. at liftoff and was designed for a service life exceeding 15 years.

Flight VA250 will mark Arianespace's fourth mission in 2019 with a heavy-lift Ariane 5 and the eighth this year across its full family of launchers – which also includes the medium-lift Soyuz and lightweight Vega.

The fifth Global Xpress satellite – Inmarsat GX5 – is getting its first look inside the Spaceport's S5 payload preparation facility as pre-flight activity continues for Arianespace's Ariane 5 mission in November.

Inmarsat GX5 was removed from its protective shipping container after being delivered late last week from France – wh ere the spacecraft was produced by Thales Alenia Space – to French Guiana via cargo jetliner. The satellite subsequently was transferred by road to the Spaceport for payload processing.

The Inmarsat GX5 satellite is one of two passengers to be orbited on Arianespace's next Ariane 5 flight, joining TIBA-1 – a communications spacecraft for Egypt, developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus as co-prime contractors, with Thales Alenia Space acting as lead partner of the contract. TIBA-1 arrived at the Spaceport earlier this month and is advancing through its own pre-flight preparations.

Expanding the Global Xpress network

Inmarsat GX5 is a very high throughput communications satellite that will be fully integrated into Inmarsat's current Global Xpress high-speed network – with a coverage area that is to include the Middle East, Europe and the Indian sub-continent.

Based on Thales Alenia Space's upgraded Spacebus 4000 B2 platform, Inmarsat GX5 will deliver double the capacity of the entire existing Global Xpress fleet of satellites. It was designed for an operational lifetime of 16 years and will weigh approximately four metric tons at liftoff.

Arianespace's launch of TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 – designated Flight VA250 – will be the fourth mission in 2019 with a heavy-lift Ariane 5 and the eighth this year across the company's family of launchers, which also includes the medium-lift Soyuz and lightweight Vega.

Flight VA250: Arianespace will orbit TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 with Ariane 5

On its fourth flight with Ariane 5 in 2019, Arianespace will orbit two telecommunications satellites at the service of long-term customers: TIBA-1 for Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space, on behalf of the Government of Egypt; and the GX5 satellite for the operator Inmarsat.

Through this mission, Arianespace highlights its ability to be at the service of innovative satellite solutions for commercial and institutional needs.

VA250 will be the 250th launch of an Ariane rocket, which lifted off for the first time on December 24, 1979.

Flight VA250 will be performed from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) in Kourou, French Guiana.

The Launch Readiness Review (LRR) will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Kourou to authorize the start of operations for the final countdown.

TIBA-1 is a civil and government telecommunication satellite for Egypt. It was developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space as co-prime contractors, with Thales Alenia Space acting as the consortium's lead partner. TIBA-1 will be owned and operated by the government of Egypt.

TIBA-1 will be the fourth satellite launched by Arianespace for Egypt. It will be deployed by Arianespace into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO), subsequently transitioning to its operational orbital slot position at 35.5° East.

Airbus Defence and Space is Arianespace's direct customer for this mission, continuing a fruitful cooperation between the two companies that extends back to Arianespace's creation in 1980.

GX5 is a mobile communications satellite built by Thales Alenia Space for Inmarsat. Inmarsat's fifth Ka-band Global Xpress (GX) satellite, GX5 will be the most advanced in the GX fleet, which in less than four years has become the gold standard for seamless, globally available, mobile broadband services.

Located in a geostationary orbit at 11° East, GX5 will deliver greater capacity than the entire existing GX fleet (GX1-GX4) combined and will support the rapid growth in customer demand for GX services in Europe and the Middle East, particularly for aviation passenger Wi-Fi and commercial maritime services.

This is the 10th time that Inmarsat has chosen Arianespace's launch services, demonstrating a well-established trust – with the two companies' relationship dating back to 1981.

Arianespace integrates TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 for Ariane 5 launch on November 22

The Ariane 5 for Arianespace's eighth mission of 2019 is now fully assembled following integration of its two satellite passengers at the Spaceport in French Guiana.

Ariane 5's payload fairing – containing TIBA-1 – is lowered for installation atop the Inmarsat GX5 co-passenger.

During activity in Ariane 5's Final Assembly Building, the upper payload component – containing TIBA-1, mounted on its SYLDA dispenser system and protected by an ogive-shaped fairing – was lowered into position over Inmarsat GX5, which was previously installed atop the launcher's central core.

This step clears the way for final checkout, which will enable the launch readiness review to be conducted on November 19, followed by Ariane 5's rollout to the Spaceport's ELA-3 launch zone the following Thursday, and an early evening liftoff on Friday, November 22.

The upcoming mission is designated Flight VA250 in Arianespace's numbering system, and it will deliver the two satellites into geostationary transfer orbit.

Payload performance

To be deployed first during the 34-minute flight sequence is TIBA-1 – a communications spacecraft for the Government of Egypt, developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space as co-prime contractors, with Thales Alenia Space acting as lead partner of the contract. It will perform a dual mission in Ka-band for secure and broadband communications, operating fr om an orbital position at 35.5 deg. East.

The second passenger – Inmarsat GX5, which was produced by Thales Alenia Space – is a very high throughput communications satellite that will be fully integrated into Inmarsat's current Global Xpress high-speed network. To be located in a geostationary orbit at 11 deg. East, it is equipped 72 Ka-band fixed spot beams and four steerable beams to direct additional capacity wh ere it is needed.

Ariane 5 will deliver a total payload lift performance of approximately 10,495 kg. during the mission – with this combined mass factoring in TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5, plus the launch vehicle's dual-passenger dispenser system and satellite integration hardware.

Arianespace receives "green light" for its upcoming Ariane 5 launch with TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5

The next Arianespace Ariane 5 flight has been authorized for liftoff on November 22 following today's launch readiness review, which was conducted at the Spaceport in French Guiana.

This milestone confirmed that the heavy-lift launcher and its dual-satellite payload – comprised of TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 – are flight-ready, along with the Spaceport's infrastructure and the network of downrange tracking stations.

With approval granted, Ariane 5 is cleared for tomorrow's rollout from the Final Assembly Building to the ELA-3 launch zone. Liftoff will occur the following day during a 1-hour, 35-minute launch window that opens at 6:08 p.m. local time in French Guiana.

Ariane 5 will deliver a total payload lift performance of approximately 10,495 kg. on the mission to geostationary transfer orbit (GTO), which is designated Flight VA250. This total includes the two satellite passengers, plus the workhorse vehicle's dual-payload deployment system and integration hardware.

Ariane 5 is in the launch zone for Arianespace's November 22 liftoff

The Ariane 5 for Arianespace's Flight VA250 has reached the launch zone in French Guiana, positioning this vehicle for tomorrow's dual-satellite mission with TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5.

Riding atop a mobile launch table, Ariane 5 today completed its transfer fr om the Spaceport's Final Assembly Building – wh ere its two passengers were integrated – to the dedicated ELA-3 launch complex. This paves the way for tomorrow's liftoff, which is planned during a 1-hour, 35-minute launch window that opens November 22 at 6:08 p.m. local time in French Guiana.

Today's rollout from the Spaceport's Final Assembly Building marked one of the last milestones in preparation for Flight VA250, which is Arianespace's eighth mission of 2019 across its full launch vehicle family – and the fourth this year using an Ariane 5.

A dual-passenger deployment for Ariane 5

Flight VA250 will be carrying a payload estimated at 10,479 kg. This total factors in the two satellite passengers' combined liftoff mass, as well as hardware for Ariane 5's dual-payload deployment system.

Riding in Ariane 5's upper position, TIBA-1 is to be released first in the flight sequence, with separation occurring 27 minutes after liftoff. It is a communications spacecraft for the Government of Egypt, developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space as co-prime contractors, with Thales Alenia Space acting as lead partner of the contract.

Completing the mission will be the deployment of Ariane 5's lower passenger, Inmarsat GX5, which will occur 34 minutes after the flight begins. This spacecraft is a very high throughput communications satellite that will be fully integrated into Inmarsat's current Global Xpress high-speed network.

Запуск должен был состояться в 18:08 по местному времени (00:08 мск субботы), однако обратный отсчет остановился за 13 минут и 46 секунд до старта. Ожидается, что в субботу он состоится в то же время. Продолжительность миссии, согласно расчетам, составит чуть более получаса, ракете предстоит вывести на орбиту два спутника общей массой около 10 т.

Спутник TIBA-1 создавался совместными усилиями Airbus Defence and Space и Thales Alenia Space по заказу правительства Египта. Аппарат со стартовой массой в 5,6 т рассчитан на 15 лет эксплуатации. Он станет четвертым спутником, который Arianespace запустит для Египта. TIBA-1 разместится на геостационарной орбите в точке 35,5 градуса восточной долготы.

Weather permitting, Arianespace is preparing for another Ariane 5 launch attempt today at 4:09 p.m. EST (2109 GMT) with the TIBA 1 and Inmarsat GX5 communications satellites.

The countdown officially commenced at 0946 GMT (5:46 a.m. EST), with clocks at the Guiana Space Center timed for a targeted liftoff at 2109 GMT (4:09 p.m. EST; 6:09 p.m. French Guiana time). The launch window extends for 105 minutes.

Electrical systems checks on the Ariane 5 began at 1136 GMT (6:36 a.m. EST).

Workers have also put finishing touches on the launch pad, including the closure of doors, removal of safety barriers and configuring fluid lines for fueling. The flight program for today's launch was also be loaded into the rocket's computer.

After a weather status report, the launch team is scheduled to begin the process to fuel the rocket shortly with super-cold liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen propellants, a process is expected to begin around 1631 GMT (11:31 a.m. EST). First, ground reservoirs and the rocket's helium tank will be pressurized, then the fuel lines will be chilled down to condition the plumbing for the flow of super-cold liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen, which are stored at approximately minus 423 degrees Fahrenheit and minus 298 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively.

It is expected to take approximately two hours to fill the Ariane 5 core stage tanks.

A similar procedure for the Ariane 5's cryogenic upper stage commenced at 1741 GMT (12:41 p.m. EST).

Chilldown conditioning of the Vulcain 2 first stage engine is scheduled to occur at 1751 GMT (12:51 p.m. EST), and a communications check between the rocket and ground telemetry, tracking and command systems is scheduled for 1954 GMT (2:54 p.m. EST).

A final weather briefing will come at T-minus 10 minues, and then the computer-controlled synchronized countdown sequence will begin seven minutes before launch to pressurize propellant tanks, switch to on-board power and take the rocket's guidance system to flight mode.

The Vulcain 2 engine will ignite as the countdown clock reaches zero, followed by a health check and ignition of the Ariane 5's solid rocket boosters seven seconds later to send the 1.7 million-pound launcher skyward.

Five seconds after blastoff, the rocket will begin pitching east from the ELA-3 launch pad, surpassing the speed of sound less than a minute into the mission. The Ariane 5's twin solid rocket boosters will jettison nearly two-and-a-half minutes after liftoff.

Once above the dense atmosphere, the launcher's payload fairing will fall away at an altitude of more than 70 miles — about 112 kilometers -- at Plus+3 minutes, 19 seconds. The Ariane 5's first stage will shut down 8 minutes, 41 seconds, after liftoff, followed moments later by stage separation and ignition of the hydrogen-fueled cryogenic HM7B upper stage engine.

The rocket's upper stage will fire more than 16 minutes, accelerating to a velocity of 21,000 mph, or more than 9.3 kilometers per second, to reach an orbit with a planned high point of 35,726 kilometers (22,199 miles), a targeted low point of 250 kilometers (155 miles) and an inclination of 5 degrees.

The release of the TIBA 1 satellite will come first at Plus+27 minutes, 9 seconds.

Once TIBA 1 is deployed, the Ariane 5 rocket's barrel-shaped Sylda 5 dual-payload adapter will be jettisoned at Plus+29 minutes.

Inmarsat GX5 will separate from the lower portion of the payload stack at 34 minutes, 7 seconds.

Minus-35 minutes. The Ariane 5's first and second stages are fully loaded loaded with cryogenic liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen propellants.

The 17.7-foot-diameter first stage's Vulcain 2 engine burns 149.5 metric tons, or about 329,000 pounds, of liquid oxygen and 25 metric tons, or about 55,000 pounds, of liquid hydrogen. The cryogenic upper stage's HM7B engine consumes about 14.7 metric tons, or more than 32,000 pounds, of oxygen and hydrogen.

The fluids are stored at super-cold temperatures and naturally boil off in the warm tropical atmosphere in French Guiana. More propellant is slowly pumped into the rocket for most of the countdown to replenish the cryogenic fuel.

The topping sequence ends in the final few minutes of the countdown as the fuel tanks are pressurized and the fueling system is secured.

Built by a consortium of European contractors led by Ariane Group's facility in Vernon, France, the Vulcain 2 engine generates up to 300,000 pounds of thrust during its 9-minute firing. It burns about 320 kilograms, or 705 pounds, of liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen propellant per second.

The engine's nozzle has an exit diameter of 2.1 meters, or about 6.9 feet. It weighs more than 4,600 pounds and its liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen turbopumps spin at 12,300 rpm and 35,800 rpm, respectively.

The Vulcain 2 replaced the Vulcain engine used on the initial version of the Ariane 5. The newer engine produces 20 percent more thrust.

The Ariane 5's upper stage is powered by an HM7B engine, a modified version of the HM7 engine used on the upper stage of the Ariane 4 rocket. The 364-pound HM7B engine is manufactured by Ariane Group in Ottobrunn, Germany.

The HM7B engine produces more than 14,500 pounds of thrust in vacuum.

The Ariane 5 configuration with a Vulcain 2 engine and HM7B-powered cryogenic upper stage is known as the Ariane 5 ECA.

The Ariane 5's twin solid rocket boosters are packed with propellant near the launch site in French Guiana before they are assembled and positioned on each side of the cryogenic core stage.

With the rocket now fully fueled for launch, the vehicle weighs 1.7 million pounds. At liftoff, the rocket produces 2.9 million pounds of thrust.

250 launches and counting: Arianespace orbits TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 on a milestone mission for Ariane

Arianespace delivered another dual-satellite payload to orbit on the 250th launch of an Ariane-series vehicle – underscoring its continued success 40 years after the historic maiden flight of an Ariane 1 version in 1979.

Lifting off today from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, the Ariane 5 deployed TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 to geostationary transfer orbit on a mission lasting 34 minutes from liftoff to final payload separation.

The Ariane 5 launcher – which is delivered to Arianespace by ArianeGroup as production prime contractor – provided an estimated total lift performance of 10,479 kg., including the satellites and hardware for their dual-payload deployment system.

Another Arianespace success for Egypt

Deployed first in the flight sequence 27 minutes after liftoff, TIBA-1 is a communications spacecraft for the Government of Egypt, developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space as co-prime contractors, with Thales Alenia Space acting as lead partner of the contract.

TIBA-1, the fourth satellite launched by Arianespace for Egypt, will operate from an orbital position at 35.5 deg. East. Airbus Defence and Space was Arianespace's direct customer for the payload – continuing a strong partnership between the two companies that extends back to Arianespace's creation in 1980.

Expanding the Global Xpress satellite network

Inmarsat GX5 was carried in Ariane 5's lower payload position and released second in the sequence for today's mission, which is designated Flight VA250 in Arianespace's numbering protocol for its launcher families. To be located in geostationary orbit at 11 deg. East, this relay platform is the 10th satellite launched by Arianespace at the service of Inmarsat.

Produced by Thales Alenia Space, Inmarsat GX5 is a very high throughput communications satellite that will be fully integrated into Inmarsat's current Global Xpress high-speed network – with a coverage area that is to include the Middle East, Europe and the Indian sub-continent.

Flight VA250 was Arianespace's fourth mission in 2019 using a heavy-lift Ariane 5, and the eighth across its full launcher family – which also includes the medium Soyuz and lightweight Vega. Today's success follows Ariane 5 missions performed this year on February 5 (carrying Saudi Geostationary Satellite 1/Hellas Sat 4 and GSAT-31); June 20 (T-16 and EUTELSAT 7C); and August 6 (Intelsat 39 and EDRS-C).

Arianespace has successfully orbited two geostationary satellites: TIBA-1, for Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space on behalf of the Government of Egypt; and GX5 for the operator Inmarsat.

The launch took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 18:23 p.m. (local time) from the Guiana Space Center (CSG), Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana (South America).

With this latest success, Arianespace once again proves its ability to support all satellite systems, even the most innovative, for both institutional and commercial customers.

Today's launch also marks the 250th Ariane mission, a series that started with the first launch on December 24, 1979.

Following the launch, Arianespace Chief Executive Officer Stéphane Israël said: "Arianespace is very proud to have launched the 250th Ariane on our eighth mission of the year, for Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space on behalf of the Government of Egypt, and for a leading operator, Inmarsat, which has entrusted Ariane for 10 of its satellite launches.

Arianespace at the service of telecommunications in Egypt

TIBA-1 is a civil and government telecommunications satellite for Egypt developed by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defense and Space as co-prime contractors. Thales Alenia Space is the consortium's lead, and Airbus Defense and Space is the direct Arianespace customer for this mission. TIBA-1 will be owned and operated by the government of Egypt.

TIBA-1 is the fourth satellite to be launched by Arianespace for Egypt, with Arianespace having deployed the three satellites for the operator Nilesat between 1998 and 2010. TIBA-1 also is the 22nd satellite launched by Arianespace for a mission in the cooperation between Airbus Defense and Space and Thales Alenia Space.

GX5: Arianespace continues a long-standing partnership with Inmarsat

GX5 marks the 10th time since 1981 that Inmarsat has chosen Arianespace, reflecting the strength of this long-standing partnership.

Inmarsat GX5 is a mobile communications satellite built by Thales Alenia Space for Inmarsat. It will provide mobile services across the Middle East, Europe and the Indian sub-continent.

As the most advanced satellite in the GX constellation, GX5 will deliver greater capacity than the entire existing GX fleet combined (GX1-GX4). A very high throughput satellite (VHTS), GX5 will address the rapid growth in customer demand for GX services in Europe and the Middle East, particularly for satellite Ka-band Wi-Fi services from the Global Xpress (GX) fleet.

Ariane: 40 years of technical success to make life better on Earth

Today's mission, VA250, marks a symbolic milestone in the history of Ariane, since it was the 250th Ariane launch since December 24, 1979 – when the cornerstone Ariane 1 version performed its maiden flight.

Just a few weeks away from celebrating its 40th anniversary, Ariane has built up an impressive record – a source of pride for all of Europe:

• In 40 years (1979-2019), Ariane will have launched 451 satellites, for a total weight injected into orbit of nearly 1,302 metric tons.
  
• From Ariane 1 to Ariane 5, payload capacity into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) has increased 10-fold, (from 1,073 kg. in 1979 for the maiden Flight L01 mission, to 10,495 kg. in 2019 for Flight VA250).
  
• 124 customers have chosen Ariane to deploy their missions.
  
• 31 different manufacturers have built the satellites carried by Ariane launchers.
  

During these past 40 years, Ariane has completed many iconic missions, such as launching the Galileo satellites, orbiting ATVs for servicing the International Space Station, launching the Herschel & Planck telescopes, and lofting the Rosetta spacecraft.

Arianespace looks forward to further milestones as well. For instance, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope will be launched by an Ariane 5 in 2021, while the JUICE mission to Jupiter's moons will be launched from 2022 by Ariane.

After the completion of Ariane 5 operations in 2022, Ariane 6 will reach its full operational capacity in 2023.
