Подготовлено госкорпорацией «Роскосмос» в соответствии с Законом Российской Федерации «О космической деятельности» (http://iv2.garant.ru/document?id=36323&byPara=1).
Подписанным распоряжением утверждён комплекс мер по проведению запуска с космодрома Байконур космического аппарата телекоммуникационного назначения (далее – КА) «Амазонас-5» (Испания). В частности, предусмотрено оказание услуг с привлечением сил и средств Минобороны России, допуск иностранных специалистов на связанные с запуском объекты.
КА телекоммуникационного назначения «Амазонас-5» изготовлен фирмой Space Systems Loral (США) по заказу фирмы Hispasat (Испания). Он предназначен для предоставления услуг в области телевидения, корпоративных сетей и телефонной связи на территории Южной и Центральной Америки. После выведения на заданную орбиту КА будет включён в национальный реестр Бразилии.
Все работы по обеспечению запуска КА будут выполнены за счёт внебюджетных источников.

Amazonas 5, which will be located at 61°W, is to be built by SSL. With this new satellite, the HISPASAT Group will be able to meet growing satellite capacity demand, mainly for satellite television platforms in Latin America and Brazil. Moreover, it has Ka band capacity to deal with new Internet connectivity services.

Amazonas 5 has an expected useful life of 15 years and will be built on SSL's 1300 satellite platform. It will have 11.5 kilowatts of power and a multi-mission useful load distributed into:

- 24 Ku-band transponders, which will provide service in two coverage areas:

   1.- Brazil
   2.- Remaining Latin American countries
 
- 34 Ka-band spot beams distributed throughout Latin America.

The Amazonas 5 satellite for HISPASAT of Madrid, Spain, arrived at the Baikonur Cosmdrome in Kazakhstan aboard an Antonov cargo jet on August 8 in preparation for mission integration and launch aboard an ILS Proton Breeze M launch vehicle in September. The satellite will be used for both video content delivery and internet connectivity, among other services, in Latin America.

The launch of Amazonas 5 will be the 95th ILS Proton mission and the 30th with a Space Systems Loral (SSL) satellite. It will also be 414th Proton mission overall since its maiden flight in 1965. Amazonas 5, based on the SSL 1300 platform, will be located at 61°W longitude and is designed to provide service for 15 years or more. The Proton launch vehicle is developed and manufactured by Khrunichev Space Center, one of the mainstays of the space industry, located in Moscow.

Amazonas 5 has 34 Ka-band spot beams and 24 Ku-band transponders, which will be used for broadband internet services, television, corporate networks, and other telecommunications applications in Brazil and Latin America. Based on the SSL 1300 (https://sslmda.com/html/1300_series_platform.php) platform, the satellite will be located at 61°W longitude and is designed to provide service for 15 years or more. With this new satellite, the HISPASAT Group will help bridge the digital divide in Latin America and will grow its video neighborhood in the region.

Amazonas 5 is the third satellite that SSL has provided to Hispasat and the company is also building Hispasat 30W-6, which is expected to launch later this year. SSL built Amazonas 3, Latin America's first satellite with a high throughput payload for broadband internet, and Hispasat 30W-5, which was launched in 2010.

WASHINGTON — A satellite that Spanish fleet operator Hispasat ordered in December 2014 largely to replace two Orbital ATK spacecraft has arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for a Proton launch in September.

Amazonas-5 covers for Amazonas-4A, an Orbital ATK-built satellite that lost capacity due to a power issue in early 2014, and Amazonas-4B, an Orbital ATK satellite that Hispasat cancelled following the previous anomaly. Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto, California, built the Amazonas-5 satellite.

Hispasat said in 2014 that the reduced capacity of Amazonas-4A, since renamed Amazonas-4, didn't impact the company as severely as it could have because the satellite was meant for growth, not as a replacement. Both Amazonas 4A and Amazonas-4B were supposed to be in orbit supporting heightened broadcast demand for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, however.

For International Launch Services (ILS), Amazonas-5 will be the company's second Proton launch of the year. Hispasat spokesperson Iñaki Latasa told SpaceNews Aug. 10 the company does not have an official launch date yet. ILS's third and final 2017 mission, AsiaSat-9, is scheduled for Sept. 28.

Built on the SSL-1300 platform, Amazonas-5 has 24 Ku-band transponders for direct-to-home television broadcasts, and 34 Ka-band spot beams for internet connectivity services. In an Aug. 10 statement, Hispasat said the new satellite "will enable broadcasting 500 new TV channels and will be key in promoting 4K TV in the region."

"SSL has been a very reliable manufacturing partner, and is providing us with a highly advanced satellite that will help us grow our business in Latin America," Carlos Espinós, Hispasat's CEO, said in the same statement.

Amazonas-5 has a design life of 15 years, and will be located at 61 degrees west. SSL is also building Hispasat's 30W-6 satellite (previously known as Hispasat 1F), which is scheduled for a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch later this year.

Запуск "Протона" со спутником связи собрались перенести на полторы недели

Москва. 14 августа. INTERFAX.RU - Запуск ракеты-носителя "Протон-М" с космическим аппаратом (КА) связи "Амазонас-5"(Amazonas-5) может быть перенесен из-за поздней отправки ракеты-носителя с завода, сообщил "Интерфаксу" источник на космодроме.

"В виду поздней отправки ракеты-носителя следующий коммерческий запуск ракеты-носителя "Протон-м" с разгонным блоком "Бриз-М" и КА связи "Амазонас-5" может быть перенесен на полторы недели", - сказал он.

Ранее сообщалось, что запуск назначен на 9 сентября.

Контракт на запуск испанского спутника заключила компания International Launch Services Inc. (ILS, Рестон, США), имеющая эксклюзивное право на маркетинг РН "Протон". На БАЙКОНУРЕ продолжается плановая подготовка к намеченному на 11 сентября 2017 года пуску ракеты-носителя (РН) «Протон-М» с космическим аппаратом (КА) «Амазонас-5» (Amazоnas-5).

31 августа 2017 года в зале 101 монтажно–испытательного корпуса площадки 92-А50 началась сборка космической головной части (КГЧ) РН «Протон-М» в составе разгонного блока (РБ) «Бриз-М», переходной системы, космического аппарата «Амазонас-5» и головного обтекателя.

Операции по сборке головной части ракеты-носителя выполняет интернациональная команда в составе специалистов Space Systems Loral (разработчик и изготовитель КА), Центра Хруничева (разработчик и изготовитель ракеты-носителя, разгонного блока и переходной системы), International Launch Services (подрядчик по пусковым услугам РН «Протон»).

Накануне КА «Амазонас-5», прошедший полный цикл автономных проверок и заправленный компонентами топлива, доставили в зал 101 для сборки с разгонным блоком.  31 августа космический аппарат «Амазонас-5» установили на РБ «Бриз-М» с помощью переходной системы, которая обеспечивает механическую и электрическую стыковку космического аппарата с разгонным блоком.

На Байконуре идет плановая подготовка к   пуску ракеты космического назначения (РКН)  «Протон-М» с космическим аппаратом (КА) Amazоnas-5 («Амазонас-5»), намеченному на 11 сентября (мск).

В соответствии с графиком,  в зале 101 монтажно–испытательного комплекса площадки 92-А50 сегодня началась сборка космической головной части (КГЧ) РКН «Протон».

КГЧ обеспечивает размещения полезной нагрузки, довыведение ее на заданную орбиту, а также защиту полезной нагрузки от внешних воздействий при наземной эксплуатации и в полете. КГЧ состоит из разгонного блока (РБ) «Бриз-М», переходной системы, КА Amazоnas-5 и головного обтекателя.

Операции по сборке головной части РКН,  или в совместные операции,  выполняет интернациональная команда в составе специалистов Space Systems /Loral (разработчик и изготовитель КА), ГКНПЦ им. М.В. Хруничева (разработчик и изготовитель  ракеты-носителя, разгонного блока,  переходной системы), International Launch Services  (подрядчик по пусковым  услугам РН «Протон»).

Накануне КА Amazоnas-5, прошедший полный цикл автономных проверок в зале 103А и заправленный компонентами топлива, доставили в зал 101 для сборки с разгонным блоком.  Сегодня космический аппарат КА Amazоnas-5 установили на РБ «Бриз-М»  с помощью переходной системы (ПС), которая обеспечивает механическую и электрическую стыковку космического аппарата с разгонным блоком.  В ее состав входит система разделения разработки фирмы RUAG Space AB (Швеция),  которая обеспечивает отделение КА от ракеты-носителя. Шведские специалисты также участвуют в совместных операциях

TWO SATELLITES ON THE MOVE: It was a busy day in Hall 103 as the AMAZONAS 5 spacecraft (on the right) exited Hall 103A and AsiaSat 9 (left) moved into Hall 103A for standard electrical testing recently.

В монтажно-испытательном корпусе 92–А50 космодрома Байконур завершена общая сборка ракеты космического назначения (РКН) «Протон-М», которая должна вывести на орбиту телекоммуникационный  космический аппарат (КА) Amazоnas-5 («Амазонас-5»). 
 
В четверг, 7  сентября, состоялся вывоз РКН  «Протон-М» из монтажно-испытательного корпуса  92–А50 на техническую заправочную площадку (ТЗП)  для заправки баков низкого давления разгонного блока «Бриз-М». Операции на ТЗП продлятся один день и завершат подготовку РКН,  предусмотренную на техническом комплексе.

7 сентября 2017 года на космодроме БАЙКОНУР состоялось заседание технического руководства по вопросам готовности ракеты-носителя «Протон-М» с разгонным блоком «Бриз-М» и телекоммуникационным космическим аппаратом «Амазонас-5» к вывозу на стартовый комплекс. Днем ранее в Госкорпорации «РОСКОСМОС» (г.Москва) прошло аналогичное совещание с участием членов Государственной комиссии. По результатам рассмотрения докладов о готовности ракеты космического назначения (РКН) и наземной инфраструктуры принято решение о вывозе РКН «Протон-М» 8 сентября 2017 года на стартовую площадку и её установке в пусковую систему.

Также 7 сентября завершены операции по заправке баков низкого давления разгонного блока «Бриз-М» в составе РКН «Протон-М» на технологической заправочной станции.

Пуск ракеты-носителя «Протон-М» с КА «Амазонас-5» запланирован с пусковой установки 39 пл.200 космодрома БАЙКОНУР 11 сентября 2017 года в 22:23:41 мск.

AMAZONAS 5 MISSION UPDATE: The ILV rolled out from Hall 111 to the Breeze M fueling station. Fueling was successfully completed and the ILV is cleared for an early morning roll out to Pad 39 tomorrow morning in Baikonur. The vehicle will roll out to the launch pad at 6:30 am, the precise time that Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, made history in 1961 from the same launch site.

The launch of Amazonas 5 for HISPASAT will be the 95th ILS Proton mission and the 30th with an SSL satellite. The Proton launch vehicle marked its 100th Proton M mission on August 17th, 2017. Amazonas 5, based on the SSL 1300 platform, will be located at 61°W longitude and is designed to provide service for 15 years or more.

8 сентября 2017 года ракета-носитель «Протон-М» с разгонным блоком «Бриз-М» и телекоммуникационным космическим аппаратом «Амазонас-5» вывезена на стартовый комплекс и установлена в вертикальное положение в пусковой системе. Пусковой расчет начал работу по подготовке ракеты космического назначения (РКН) к пуску по графику первого стартового дня.

Сегодня специалистам предприятий Роскосмоса предстоит провести комплексные испытания систем ракеты-носителя и разгонного блока, отработку и анализ телеметрической информации и подготовить наземный пуско-проверочный комплекс к проведению контрольного режима предстартовой подготовки разгонного блока.

Во второй стартовый день намечены работы по контролю работы систем безопасности при имитации предстартовых операций. По результатам всех испытаний 11 сентября запланировано совещание с участием членов Государственной комиссии о готовности к проведению заправки ракеты-носителя и проведению пуска РКН.

Proton's third flight of the year is targeting a liftoff time at 19:23:41 UTC on September 11th and the three-stage rocket will operate for just under ten minutes before handing over to the Briz-M upper stage that will be tasked with a nine-hour flight to dispatch the Amazonas 5 satellite into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit.

2017 has been a year of rebuilding for Russia's current heavy-lift workhorse following a struggle with reliability over the last decade and a major issue discovered within the rocket's engines to begin the year. The engine issue was revealed as the result of a close call on last year's Intelsat 31 launch in which Proton encountered a premature shutdown of one of its four second stage engines. An investigation into the problem unveiled a massive quality control problem related to Soyuz and Proton engines which ended up grounding Proton for a full year.

The investigation found that a solder joint connecting the fuel injector with the gas generator on Proton's second and third stage engines did not use the material specified for Proton's production and instead used a material with a lower melting point – introducing a possible weak point in a critical component of the engine where liquid propellants are turned into extremely hot gas at high pressure. Although only a small quantity of the wrong solder material was used, a total of 71 engines for 14 vehicles had to be recalled for replacement of their gas generators as it was impossible to trace back on which engines the defective material was used.

As a result, Proton flight operations stood still for the first part of 2017 and Proton finally returned to flight on (http://spaceflight101.com/proton-echostar-21/) June 8 with the EchoStar 21 satellite and Proton flew again in August  (http://spaceflight101.com/proton-m-launches-first-blagovest-comm-satellite/)on a mission for the Russian Military, orbiting the first of four Blagovest high-capacity communications satellites for military and civilian use. Now, Proton is set for a pair of commercial launches in close succession with Amazonas 5 targeting launch on Monday and the AsiaSat-9 satellite already deep in its processing campaign at Baikonur for liftoff on September 28 – both missions are operated by International Launch Services, Proton's commercial operator.

Amazonas 5, built by Space Systems Loral in California, was targeting liftoff in the first quarter of 2017 before Proton was hit by the engine problem. With Proton remaining on the ground, the satellite was kept in readiness as SS/L's facilities prior to a final checkout for shipment to the launch site.

The satellite was delivered to the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard an Antonov cargo jet on August 8 to enter its launch campaign that began with a final round of pre-flight testing before the spacecraft was fueled for its 15-year mission of beaming television and Internet connectivity to South and Central America. Next, the satellite was mated with the Briz-M upper stage and the orbital unit was encapsulated in the protective payload fairing to be shipped to the launcher integration facility where the three-stage Proton rocket had undergone assembly and testing prior to integration of the payload.

Amazonas 5, based on the popular SSL-1300 platform, weighs in at 5,900 Kilograms and hosts a Ku- and Ka-Band payload to deliver TV broadcasting services and Internet connectivity fr om an orbital position at 61° West. The satellite was ordered in 2014 to replace Amazonas 4A that suffered a power system malfunction shortly after its 2014 deployment, reducing its capacity and shortening its life expectancy.

Amazonas 5 hosts 24 Ku-Band transponders for TV distribution to Latin America and Brazil and 34 Ka-Band spot beams support Internet distribution, corporate networks and other telecommunications services over South and Central America with focus on Brazil and Mexico.

With its payload installed, Proton was moved fr om the 92-A50 assembly hall to the Briz-M fueling station on Thursday wh ere the Briz-M received 19,800 Kilograms of toxic Unsymmetrical Dimethylhydrazine and Nitrogen Tetroxide propellants to be expended over the course of a five-burn ascent mission. Proton-M emerged from the fueling station before dawn on Friday for a slow trek over to the launch pad at Site 200/39 wh ere it took its vertical launch position for a three-day on pad campaign.

The Service Structure was rolled up to the launch vehicle to begin the process of putting the launcher through a final testing campaign before undergoing preparatory tasks for propellant loading, to be completed on Monday as part of countdown operations. Liftoff is timed for precisely 1:23:41 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Two more Proton missions are on the manifest for 2017 – the September 28th launch with AsiaSat-9 and the second Blagovest launch in December.

Proton-M countdown operations kick off 11.5 hours ahead of the planned launch time with the activation of the Briz-M upper stage for checkouts and software load. Proton-M is powered up seven hours ahead of launch for final setup steps ahead of propellant loading.

The Russian State Commission approves the rocket for tanking, starting at L-6 hours to fill the three stages with 622,000 Kilograms of hypergolic propellants. When the pad is re-opened after fueling, final hands-on work will be completed including the removal of protective covers and the close-out of the rocket and Servicing Structure. One hour ahead of liftoff, the Service Structure is rolled back to a safe position for launch, exposing the fully fueled Proton rocket.

The Master Countdown Sequence gets underway a short time later and a set of reconfigurations is completed to prepare the rocket for the automated countdown sequence that starts at T-5 minutes.

Soaring to life 2.5 seconds before blastoff, Proton's six engines will reach their liftoff thrust of more than 1,000 metric-ton-force.

The Proton rocket will follow its standard ascent profile, beginning with a short vertical climb before completing a roll maneuver to line up with its precise ascent trajectory – departing Baikonur to the north east along a 61.3° launch azimuth.

Proton-M stands 58.2 meters tall and measures 7.4 meters in diameter with a launch mass of 712 metric tons. Its first stage is 21.2 meters long hosting a large oxidizer tank that is surrounded by six fuel tanks holding a total of 419,400 Kilograms of propellants fed to six RD-275M engines for a liftoff thrust of 9,942 Kilonewtons.

Proton's second stage has a smaller diameter of 4.15 meters and is 14.5 meters long, holding 156,113kg of propellants to be consumed by a cluster of four RD-0210-type engines. The third stage is 6.5 meters in length launching with a propellant load of 46,562kg. It is powered by a single RD-0213 main engine with a four-chamber RD-0214 vernier for steering.

Sitting atop the third stage is the Briz-M Upper Stage that weighs 22 metric tons, being 4.1m in diameter and 2.61m long – consisting of a central section and an Auxiliary Propellant Tank. Briz-M is powered by an 19.6kN S5.98 engine that can support up to eight re-starts. The Upper Stage and Payload are protected by a fairing that is 4.35 meter in diameter and 15 meters long.

Passing Maximum Dynamic Pressure 62 seconds after launch, Proton heads uphill as the first stage rapidly accelerates the vehicle, shutting down one minute and 59 seconds after liftoff. As part of hot-staging, the second stage ignites its four 599-Kilonewton RD-0210/0211 engines at the moment of stage separation to continue powered ascent with a burn of three minutes and 28 seconds.

To separate from the second stage, Proton's third stage will ignite its vernier engine to be able to pull away from the spent second stage five minutes and 27 seconds into the flight, followed three seconds later by the ignition of the 583-Kilonewton main engine.

Payload Fairing Jettison occurs at T+5:47 and the third stage main engine burns until T+9:31. Three seconds after third stage vernier cutoff at T+9:42, the orbital unit is separated.

Beginning the five burn, nine-hour mission, the Briz-M upper stage will ignite its S5.98 engine after a very brief coast to conduct a burn of four minutes and 24 seconds that puts the stack into a Low Earth Orbit of 170 by 186 Kilometers, 51.6° for half an orbit of coasting set up for a long burn on the ascending node of the orbit with a duration of nearly 18 minutes to raise the apogee of the orbit to 5,000 Kilometers, placing the apogee passage close to the equator.

Next is a coast phase of nearly an entire orbit so that the next burn can again take place around the perigee of the orbit, on the next ascending node, to continue raising the apogee to reach the desired altitude of 35,302 Kilometers. The third and fourth burn are conducted as a pair, amounting to a total of 17.5 minutes, only separated by a brief coast during which the spent Auxiliary Propellant Tank is jettisoned from the Briz-M after its propellant load of 14,600 kg is depleted.

After the conclusion of the fourth burn, Briz-M will coast for five hours to be able to climb all the way up to the apogee of the orbit for the final burn of the mission that serves as a perigee-raising maneuver and a plane-change, reducing the inclination of the orbit. The fifth burn is planned to be six minutes and 28 seconds in duration, targeting a start time of T+8 hours and 49 minutes. Spacecraft Separation is expected 9 hours and 12 minutes after liftoff into an orbit of 4,450 by 35,286 Kilometers, inclined 22.9°.

Mission Profile:
The Proton M launch vehicle, utilizing a 5-burn Breeze M mission design, will lift off from Pad 39 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan with the AMAZONAS 5 satellite on board. The first three stages of the Proton will use a standard ascent profile to place the orbital unit (Breeze M upper stage and the AMAZONAS 5 satellite) into a sub-orbital trajectory. From this point in the mission, the Breeze M will perform planned mission maneuvers to advance the orbital unit first to a nearly circular parking orbit, then to an intermediate orbit, followed by a transfer orbit, and finally to the apogee of the planned geosynchronous transfer orbit mission. ILS Proton provides this unique mission injection for GEO satellites. The separation of the AMAZONAS 5 satellite is scheduled to occur approximately 9 hours, 12 minutes after liftoff.

A new communications spacecraft for Hispasat, a Spanish communications satellite operator, will get a boost fr om a Russian Proton rocket Monday toward an orbital position more than 22,000 miles above Earth.

The Amazonas 5 satellite is set for liftoff from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard a Proton launcher at 1923:41 GMT (3:23:41 p.m. EDT) Monday, kicking off a nine-hour ascent toward a geostationary transfer orbit.

The 191-foot-tall (58-meter) rocket rolled out Friday to its launch pad at Baikonur, riding on a horizontal rail car before a hydraulic lift raised the Proton vertical. A mobile gantry moved into place around the launcher to give ground crews access to the vehicle for final countdown preparations.

Liftoff is timed for 1:23 a.m. local time Tuesday at Baikonur, a sprawling spaceport leased by the Russian government from Kazakhstan.

Flying under the management of International Launch Services, a commercial launch broker based in Virginia, the Proton rocket will climb to the northeast from Baikonur atop nearly 2.5 million pounds of thrust from six RD-276 main engines, then drop its first stage onto the steppe of Kazakhstan two minutes into the flight.

A second stage will take over for a three-and-a-half minute burn, followed by separation of the Proton's third stage, which will ignite a single RD-0213 engine for around four minutes.

The aerodynamic shroud enclosing the Amazonas 5 communications payload will jettison at T+plus 5 minutes, 47 seconds.

The Proton's Breeze M upper stage will fire its main engine five times over nearly nine hours to maneuver the Amazonas 5 satellite into a high-altitude transfer orbit with a high point of 21,925 miles (35,286 kilometers), a low point of 2,765 miles (4,450 kilometers), and an inclination of 22.9 degrees.

Each Breeze M engine burn will raise its orbit and move its path closer to the equator. Here are the scheduled ignition times for each firing:

The 13,000-pound (5,900-kilogram) Amazonas 5 satellite, built by Space Systems/Loral in Palo Alto, California, will separate from the Breeze M upper stage at 0435 GMT (12:35 a.m. EDT) Tuesday.

Built by Russia's Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, the Proton booster is set to make its 415th flight since 1965. Monday's launch will be the third Proton launch of the year, and the second for ILS.

Amazonas 5 will use its own engine to circularize its orbit nearly 22,300 miles (35,800 kilometers) over the equator a few weeks after launch.

The satellite will park itself at 61 degrees west longitude, wh ere its orbit will hover over the same fixed geographic position on Earth. Its 34 Ka-band spot beams and 24 Ku-band transponders will broadcast communications services to Hispasat customers in Brazil and other parts of Latin America during a planned 15-year mission.

The Amazonas 5 satellite's Ku-band payload will offer 500 new TV channels, including 4K Ultra HD broadcasts, over Central and South America, according to a Hispasat press release.

The Ka-band spot beams will provide Internet connectivity to a half-million people, Hispasat said, and the satellite will also support wireless and cellular communications across Latin America, from Mexico to Patagonia.

Another ILS Proton launch is scheduled for Sept. 28 with the AsiaSat 9 satellite, a commercial television and Internet satellite destined to cover the Asia-Pacific region. Like Amazonas 5, the AsiaSat 9 satellite was built by Space Systems/Loral.

The parallel launch campaigns mark a busy time for ILS, which has not conducted two Proton missions so close together since 2014.

To deliver the Amazonas 5 Spacecraft to an optimized Geostationary Transfer Orbit, the three-stage Proton-M Rocket will perform a nominal ascent mission and deliver the Orbital Unit consisting of a Briz-M Upper Stage and the Payload to a sub-orbital trajectory.

Separating after 9 Minutes and 42 Seconds, the Orbital Unit will start powered flight by igniting the Briz-M Main Engine to place itself in a Low-Earth Parking Orbit. In total, the Briz-M Upper Stage will make five Main Engine Burns separated by coast phases to increase its orbital altitude in a methodical fashion. After all burns are complete, the satellite will be separated 9 Hours and 12 Minutes after Liftoff and start its own mission lasting for 15 years

11 сентября 2017 года в 22:23 с космодрома БАЙКОНУР успешно стартовала ракета-носитель (РН) «Протон-М» с разгонным блоком «Бриз-М» и геостационарным телекоммуникационным космическим аппаратом (КА) «Амазонас-5» (Amazonas 5). Это третий космический запуск 2017 года с использованием ракеты-носителя «Протон-М» и 415-й пуск в летной истории всех модификаций этого носителя (с 1965 г.).

Старт и полет ракеты-носителя прошли в штатном режиме. Через 9 минут 42 секунды полета орбитальный блок отделился от третьей ступени ракеты-носителя и продолжил полет в автономном режиме. Дальнейшее выведение КА «Амазонас-5» на целевую геосинхронную переходную орбиту будет выполнено за счет 5-ти включений маршевой двигательной установки разгонного блока «Бриз-М».

В соответствии с программой выведения, отделение КА «Амазонас-5» от разгонного блока ожидается приблизительно через 9 часов 12 мин после старта – приблизительно в 07:35 мск 12 сентября.

Контракт на оказание пусковых услуг   с использованием ракеты-носителя «Протон-М» и разгонного блока «Бриз-М» для запуска КА «Амазонас-5» заключила компания International Launch Services Inc. (Рестон, США) – дочернее предприятие Центра Хруничева.

Космический аппарат Amazonas-5 изготовила фирма SSL - Space Systems/Loral (США) по заказу регионального спутникового оператора Hispasat (Мадрид, Испания). Космический аппарат предназначен для предоставления услуг в области телевещания, корпоративных сетей и телефонной связи на территории Южной и Центральной Америки.

INTERNATIONAL LAUNCH SERVICES PROTON SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHES THE AMAZONAS 5 SATELLITE

International Launch Services (ILS), a leading launch services provider for the global commercial satellite industry, successfully delivered the Amazonas 5 satellite into orbit today on an ILS Proton for HISPASAT. It was the second HISPASAT satellite launched on ILS Proton.

The ILS Proton launched from Pad 39 at 1:23 AM local time today (19:23 GMT, 15:23 PM ET on September 11) with the Amazonas 5 satellite. The first three stages of the Proton Breeze M utilized a standard ascent profile to place the orbital unit (Breeze M upper stage and the Amazonas 5 satellite) into a suborbital trajectory. Then, the Breeze M performed planned mission maneuvers to advance the orbital unit first to a nearly circular parking orbit, then to an intermediate orbit, followed by a transfer orbit, and finally to a geosynchronous transfer orbit. Separation of the Amazonas 5 satellite occurred at approximately 9 hours and 12 minutes after lift-off.

The Amazonas 5 satellite, built by SSL, has a high throughput Ka-band payload with 34 Ka-band spot beams which will be used for broadband service in South America, Central America and Mexico. It also has a Ku-band payload with 24 transponders for fixed satellite services for television, corporate networks and other telecommunications applications in South America and Central America. Amazonas 5, the 30th SSL satellite launched by ILS Proton, will be located at 61 degrees west and is built on the highly reliable SSL 1300 platform.

   12 сентября 2017 года в 7:35 мск российский разгонный блок «Бриз-М» успешно завершил программу выведения космического аппарата «Амазонас-5» на геосинхронную переходную орбиту. Отделение космического аппарата от разгонного блока произошло через 9 часов 12 мин после старта. Масса спутника при отделении от разгонного блока составила приблизительно 5900 кг.

    

   КА «Амазонас-5» изготовила фирма SSL-Space Systems/Loral (США). «Амазонас-5» предназначен для предоставления услуг в области телевещания, корпоративных сетей и телефонной связи на территории Южной и Центральной Америки. Расчетный срок активного существования спутника на орбите – 15 лет. Amazonas-5 – 2-й спутник орбитальной группировки Hispasat и 30-й космический аппарат производства SSL, запущенный с помощью РН «Протон».

    

   Контракт на оказание пусковых услуг   с использованием российской ракеты-носителя тяжелого класса «Протон-М» для запуска КА «Амазонас-5» заключила компания International Launch Services Inc. (Рестон, США) – дочернее предприятие Центра Хруничева.

    

   ГКНПЦ им. М.В. Хруничева (Центр Хруничева, входит в Госкорпорацию «РОСКОСМОС») является разработчиком и серийным изготовителем РН «Протон», РБ «Бриз-М» и семейства РН «Ангара». Начиная с 1965 года, состоялось 415 пусков различных модификаций РН «Протон». Модернизированный «Протон-М», оснащенный разгонным блоком «Бриз-М», способен доставлять на геопереходную орбиту полезную нагрузку массой свыше 6 т.

    

   В состав Центра Хруничева входит ряд ключевых производителей компонентов и комплектующих РН «Протон», расположенных в Москве и других городах Российской Федерации. Центр Хруничева является владельцем контрольного пакета акций компании International Launch Services.

MADRID, 12 september 2017. HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite and telecommunications operator, successfully launched its eleventh satellite, Amazonas 5, at 21:23 last night, Spanish time, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, on-board the Proton Breeze M launch vehicle of the International Launch Services (ILS) company.

Approximately 9 hours and 12 minutes after rocket lift-off, the Amazonas 5 satellite separated from the launch vehicle, at which point it was started up and the solar panels were deployed. From that moment on, manoeuvres began in order to position the new satellite at the geostationary orbit point wh ere the test phase will be carried out to make sure it is working properly, which is scheduled to last several weeks. Once the tests are passed, the satellite will be placed in its definitive orbital position at 61º West. The satellite will be operated by the Brazilian subsidiary of the company, HISPAMAR.

Carlos Espinós, CEO of the Spanish operator, affirmed that "for HISPASAT, this new satellite implies the reaffirmation of the company's international vocation and, specifically, of our commitment to the Latin American market. We have worked in this region for many years and we have acquired considerable experience and extensive knowledge of the needs of the clients in these countries. For this reason, we have designed a satellite completely dedicated to Latin America and adapted to this market's demands, both for the audio-visual sector as well as to offer connectivity solutions in residential, corporate and mobility segments".

The Amazonas 5 is based on Space Systems Loral's (SSL) 1300 platform and has a power of 9.9 kilowatts and an estimated useful life of 15 years. The flexibility offered by Amazonas 5 and its large technological capacity allow it to offer a wide range of communication services.

Its 24 transponders in the Ku band, with coverage of Central and South America, provide high-performance direct-to-home television (DTH) services. The Amazonas 5 will enable the television service providers that operate with HISPASAT to transmit 500 new channels, which will consolidate 61º West as the leading position for the broadcast of these services in Latin America. A Russian Proton rocket hauled a U.S.-built, Spanish-owned communications satellite into orbit Monday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, kicking off a 15-year mission to relay video signals and broadband connectivity across a swath of Latin America from Mexico to Patagonia.

The 191-foot-tall (58-meter) launcher took off at 1923:41 GMT (3:23:41 p.m. EDT) Monday, or 1:23 a.m. local time Tuesday at Baikonur. After heading northeast from the barren spaceport on 2.5 million pounds of thrust, the Proton released its first stage around two minutes into the flight, and its second and third stages fired before deploying a Breeze M upper stage to begin another sequence of orbit-raising maneuvers.

The Breeze M main engine ignited around 11 minutes after liftoff to place the Amazonas 5 satellite into a preliminary low-altitude parking orbit. Four more Breeze M firings were supposed to maneuver the spacecraft into a higher orbit with an apogee, or high point, of of 21,925 miles (35,286 kilometers), a perigee, or low point, of 2,765 miles (4,450 kilometers), and an inclination of 22.9 degrees to the equator.

All five Breeze M engine burns were performed according to plan, according to International Launch Services, the Virginia-based company responsible for commercial Proton rocket missions. The Amazonas 5 satellite, owned by Madrid-based Hispasat, separated from the Breeze M upper stage at around 0435 GMT (12:35 a.m. EDT) Tuesday.

ILS declared the launch a success in a press release issued Tuesday.

"It's very rewarding to have launched Amazonas 5 for Hispasat after the first launch of Amazonas many years ago. We thank Hispasat, a true innovator in satellite communications services, for their continued confidence in ILS and the Proton launch vehicle," said Kirk Pysher, president of ILS.

Monday's launch was the 415th flight of a Proton rocket since its debut in 1965, and the third Proton mission this year. Russia's Khrunichev, the Proton/Breeze M's prime contractor, owns ILS.

Built by Space Systems/Loral in Palo Alto, California, the 13,000 pound (5,900-kilogram) Amazonas 5 satellite will use its own engine to circularize its orbit nearly 22,300 miles over the equator in the next few weeks. At that altitude, Amazonas 5 will circle Earth at the same rate of the planet's rotation, appearing to hover over a fixed location.

Amazonas 5 will slide into a parking slot in geostationary orbit at 61 degrees west longitude for a 15-year mission.

"The ILS Proton has proven to be a reliable launch vehicle for Hispasat," said Carlos Espinós Gómez, Hispasat's CEO, in a press release. "Thank you to the ILS, Khrunichev, SSL and Hispasat teams for their hard work and dedication. The success of Amazonas 5 allows us to expand our television and Internet service in Latin America and it will ensure a clear path for growth of our business."

Amazonas 5's 34 Ka-band spot beams and 24 Ku-band transponders will broadcast communications services to Hispasat customers in Brazil and other parts of Latin America.

The Amazonas 5 satellite's Ku-band payload will offer 500 new TV channels, including 4K Ultra HD broadcasts, over Central and South America, according to a Hispasat press release.

The Ka-band spot beams will provide Internet connectivity to a half-million people, Hispasat said, and the satellite will also support wireless and cellular communications across Latin America, from Mexico to Patagonia.

"Latin America is a core focus of Hispasat's history," said Ignacio Sanchis, Hispasat's chief commercial officer. "It is a market of 625 million people in which satellites are highly significant for telecommunications, and which offers many opportunities for an operator like Hispasat.

"Thanks to our know-how, the design of the Amazonas 5 satellite dedicated exclusively to Latin America, falls perfectly in line with the demands of this market, and will contribute to making the solutions and services we offer even more attractive."

ILS and Khrunichev are preparing for another commercial Proton/Breeze M launch by the end of September.

Set for liftoff Sept. 28, the next Proton rocket will loft the AsiaSat 9 communications satellite, another SSL-built craft, into geostationary transfer orbit for AsiaSat of Hong Kong.

Космические войска ВКС увели разгонный блок «Бриз-М» на орбиту захоронения

Специалисты Главного испытательного космического центра (ГИКЦ) им. Г.С.Титова Космических войск (КВ)  ВКС завершили проведение операций по уводу разгонного блока «Бриз-М» с целевой орбиты геостационарного телекоммуникационного космического аппарата «Амазонас-5» (Amazonas 5) на так называемую орбиту захоронения.

Увод разгонного блока был осуществлен за счет двух включений двигательной установки с целью придания ему импульсов, необходимых для увода его на орбиту высотой более 4,2 тыс. км в перигее и свыше 35 тыс. км в апогее.

Космические войска ВКС средствами наземного автоматизированного комплекса управления космическими аппаратами обеспечили контроль проведения пуска ракеты-носителя тяжелого класса «Протон-М» с телекоммуникационным космическим аппаратом «Амазонас-5» (Amazonas 5), которая стартовала с космодрома Байконур в понедельник, 11 сентября,
 в 22 часа 23 минуты (мск) и в 07 часов 35 минут (мск) вывела космический аппарат «Амазонас-5» на геосинхронную переходную орбиту.

После увода разгонного блока «Бриз-М» на орбиту захоронения специалисты Центра контроля космического пространства Космических войск ВКС приступили к анализу и обработке координатной и некоординатной информации о новых космических объектах для принятия их на сопровождение наземными средствами Главного центра разведки космической обстановки Космических войск ВКС.
