Mission Details
KOMPSAT-7 (Arirang 7)
KOMPSAT 7 (Korean Multi-purpose Satellite 7) is a lightweight Earth observation satellite developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute.
KOMPSAT-7 is the follow-up model of KOMPSAT-3A. It is being developed with the goal of providing high-resolution satellite images to satisfy national needs. The spacecraft bus is being developed with Korean technologies under the leadership of Korean companies. Korean companies are also participating in the development of the payload which is developed by KARI to promote the capabilities of the domestic satellite industry.
KOMPSAT-7 will be equipped with the high-resolution spaceborne camera named AEISS-HR (Advanced Earth Imaging Sensor System with High Resolution), which possesses 30 cm resolution in panchromatic mode, 1.2 m in color mode, and 4 m in infra-red mode.

On December 1st, 2025, at 2:21 p.m. local time (5:21 p.m. UTC, 6:21 p.m. CET), Arianespace is to launch KOMPSAT-7 (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite-7) satellite. This mission, called "VV28" will be performed using an Arianespace operated Vega C rocket, launched from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.
KOMPSAT-7 will be placed in Sun-synchronous orbit. The expected total duration of the mission (from lift-off to separation of the satellite) is 45 minutes.

ПАРИЖ, 2 декабря. /ТАСС/. Европейская ракета-носитель Vega-C вывела на орбиту южнокорейский спутник KOMPSAT-7 для наблюдения за Землей. Трансляция велась компанией - оператором космических запусков Arianespace.
Запуск был осуществлен в понедельник в 14:21 по местному времени с космодрома Куру во Французской Гвиане. Спутник был выведен на солнечно-синхронную орбиту на высоте 576 км. Отделение спутника от ракеты-носителя произошло через 44 минуты после старта.
Спутник KOMPSAT-7 был создан по заказу Корейского института аэрокосмических исследований. Его название расшифровывается как "Корейский многоцелевой спутник", он предназначен в первую очередь для наблюдения за поверхностью Земли и создания снимков в высоком разрешении. Согласно коммюнике, он будет использоваться для удовлетворения государственных и институциональных потребностей Республики Корея.
