TAIYUAN, April 3 (Xinhua) -- China sent a new satellite into space on Thursday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province.
The satellite, Tianping-3A 02, was launched at 10:12 a.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-6 carrier rocket and entered its preset orbit successfully.
The satellite will be primarily used for the calibration of ground-based radar equipment and radar cross section (RCS) measurement. It will support imaging experiments for ground-based optical equipment and monitoring tests of the low-orbit space environment, while also providing services for atmospheric space environment measurement and orbital prediction model correction.
The launch marks the 568th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.

Тайюань, 3 апреля /Синьхуа/ -- Китайская ракета-носитель "Чанчжэн-6" со спутником "Тяньпин-3А 02" /"Tianping-3A 02"/ на борту в четверг успешно стартовала с космодрома Тайюань в провинции Шаньси /Северный Китай/.
Запуск был произведен в 10:12 по пекинскому времени. Космический аппарат успешно достиг заданной орбиты.
Спутник будет в основном использоваться для калибровки наземного радиолокационного оборудования и измерения радиолокационного сечения. Он будет оказывать поддержку проведению экспериментов по получению изображений для наземного оптического оборудования и мониторинговых испытаний низкоорбитальной космической среды, а также предоставлять услуги по измерению атмосферной космической среды и корректировке модели прогнозирования орбиты.
Для ракет-носителей серии "Чанчжэн" /"Великий поход"/ этот полет стал 568-м по счету.

A Long March-6 launch vehicle launched the second Tianping-3A satellite [天平三号A星 (02星)] from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, Shanxi Province, China, on 3 April 2025, at 02:12 UTC (10:12 local time). According to official sources, the Tianping-3A (02) satellite "will be primarily used for the calibration of ground-based radar equipment and radar cross section (RCS) measurement". "It will support imaging experiments for ground-based optical equipment and monitoring tests of the low-orbit space environment, while also providing services for atmospheric space environment measurement and orbital prediction model correction".
