APT Satellite in April 2010 has entered into a satellite procurement contract with satellite contractor Thales Alenia Space France for the manufacturing and delivering of APSTAR 7B Satellite, a Spacebus 4000 C2 Platform with 28 C-band and 23 Ku-band high power geostationary communications satellite.
At the same time, APT Satellite also entered into a launch service agreement with launch contractor China Great Wall Industry Corporation for the provision of launch and associated services of the APSTAR 7B Satellite on a CZ-3B/E launch vehicle at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center at Xichang in Sichuan Province. The initial launch period of APSTAR 7B Satellite is between 15 July 2012 and 15 October 2012 in the case the launch of APSTAR 7 Satellite is not successful.
If Apstar 7 is successfully placed into service, the Apstar 7B contract will be transferred to China Satcom as ZX 12 (ChinaSat 12), a state-owned satellite operator in Beijing, which also needs new capacity but not as quickly as APT.

С космодрома Сичан произведен успешный запуск спутника связи "Чжунсин-12"
Сегодня в 18:13 с космодрома Сичан /провинция Сычуань, Юго-Западный Китай/ произведен успешный запуск спутника связи "Чжунсин-12", разработанного французской компанией Thales Alenia Space -- одним из ведущих мировых спутниковых операторов.
Спутник предоставит ряд телекоммуникационных услуг для некоторых азиатских, африканских и европейских стран. Это 13-й ИСЗ коммерческого и телекоммуникационного назначения, находящийся в эксплуатации и управлении Китайской корпорации спутниковой связи.
Запуск спутника "Чжунсин-12" был осуществлен с помощью ракеты-носителя "Чанчжэн-3В" /буква латинская, "Великий поход-3Б"/.

Sri Lanka's first satellite launched from China
COLOMBO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka on Tuesday launched its first communications satellite from a space center in China, a local company announced.
The country's maiden satellite launch was done by SupremeSAT, a private company with collaboration from China's state-owned China Great Wall Industry Corporation.
SupremeSAT said that the satellite named SupremeSAT-1 will be capable of providing communications services, including broadband Internet, telecom and broadcasting services to the Middle East, South and Central Asia and Australia.
"This is a proud moment for us as citizens of Sri Lanka," Vijith Peiris, group chief executive officer of SupremeSAT, said in a statement.
With the successful launch of SupremeSAT-1, Sri Lanka became the 45th country to own a communication satellite and becomes the third South Asian country to have launched a satellite after India and Pakistan.
The launch was initially expected to take place on Nov. 22 but was postponed due to bad weather, Space Systems Engineer Rohitha Rajapaksa said.
The Sri Lankan Board of Investment entered into an agreement with SupremeSAT earlier this year to launch the communications satellite for Sri Lanka.
The satellite will be positioned above Sri Lanka in the geo- stationary orbit at 87.5 degree east approximately 36,000 km above the surface of the earth.
