Turkey's second national earth observation satellite, Gokturk-2 will be launched to space from a base in China between December 15 and 25, 2012.
ANKARA
-Gokturk-2 was financed by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
The satellite would be sent to China's Jiuquan Space Station within the first week of November.
Gokturk-2 was tested in France. It weighs 450 kilograms and has a resolution of 2.5 meters.
All computer software and the computer for the satellite were fully manufactured in Turkey.

Турция начала получать данные с запущенного 18 декабря второго спутника Gokturk-2, сообщил министр науки, промышленности и технологий Турции Нихат Эргюн.
По его словам, первые данные с территории Турции - это снимки провинции Анталья, первые снимки зарубежных территорий - снимки Новой Зеландии. Спутник Gokturk-2 четыре раза в сутки пролетает над территорией Турции и может делать снимки любой точки страны, передает Armtoday.info.
